This section describes the basic requirements for setting up an
Anthos GKE cluster
(previously known as GKE On-Prem)
suitable for a production environment.
Creating the cluster
For information about creating Anthos GKE clusters,
see
Creating
admin and user clusters in the Anthos GKE on-prem 1.5 documentation.
Production cluster requirements
Use these requirements as a guide when
creating your production cluster.
You must configure and label two types of nodes in your cluster -- one for the stateful Cassandra
pods and one for the rest of the pods, which are stateless.
Configure these node types as described below:
[[["Easy to understand","easyToUnderstand","thumb-up"],["Solved my problem","solvedMyProblem","thumb-up"],["Other","otherUp","thumb-up"]],[["Hard to understand","hardToUnderstand","thumb-down"],["Incorrect information or sample code","incorrectInformationOrSampleCode","thumb-down"],["Missing the information/samples I need","missingTheInformationSamplesINeed","thumb-down"],["Other","otherDown","thumb-down"]],["Last updated 2025-03-10 UTC."],[[["The current documentation version (1.2) is end-of-life and users should upgrade to a newer version."],["Production clusters require more resources, including more nodes and larger virtual machine configurations, than non-production setups."],["Production clusters should meet requirements for the minimum node specifications, 8 CPU and 16 GB RAM for both stateful and stateless nodes."],["Stateful nodes require a minimum of 6 nodes, while stateless nodes need at least 3."],["Both stateful and stateless nodes must have Kubernetes labels set to `apigee.com/apigee-nodepool` with values `apigee-data` and `apigee-runtime` respectively, and they both require dynamically provisioned storage."]]],[]]
