Tecnomotum is one of the largest data transmission companies for haulage in Mexico. Based in Orizaba, Veracruz, with over 155 collaborators, the company provides customers with technology and information to increase security, reduce accident risks and optimize logistics transactions. By offering smart solutions, they help their customers make decisions that can increase their productivity, prevent theft and optimize resources.
With a focus on improving user experience, Tecnomotum started a digital transformation process in 2018. The aim was to offer a platform with high availability and scalability that can promptly detect any problems that may occur in vehicles and provide a solution in real time.
Consequently, Tecnomotum decided to incorporate tools that can help reduce vehicle theft, costs and environmental impact through the timely detection of excessive fuel consumption. Another aim was to make it safer for drivers and prevent accidents by identifying incorrect use and handling.
Challenges for growth
Profound transformation required starting to rethink how the teams were organized and what their needs were.
The first step involved a new architecture that would enable the company to expand scalability and storage without needing to increase physical servers as customers grew.
Their partner Nubosoft stepped in to help by speeding up the migration process to the cloud, providing training and planning how to incorporate Google Cloud products that will best suit Tecnomotum’s needs.

In 2018, the company increased its investment in technology from about 5% to 12%.

They were also relying on innovation to be at the top of their sector and surprise customers with better tools and fewer accidents, which has a positive impact on Mexican families.
Thinking ahead
Migration to the cloud with Google Cloud provides the company with opportunities for growth by incorporating an intuitive interface that is simple, agile and integrated, with tools that its teams can adopt and learn quickly and easily.
Products such as Cloud Endpoints, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, App Engine, Google Cloud SQL, Kubernetes, Memorystore and BigQuery also allowed Tecnomotum to speed up the transmission of vehicle data to the software, make monitoring efficient, warn about unforeseen events in vehicles in real time, generate reports instantaneously and have a new and more stable platform. All this enables the company to offer an enhanced user experience with improved daily processing times of over 1,000 million data generated by more than 25,000 vehicles.
In future, Tecnomotum aims to continue incorporating solutions that allow them to increase scalability and profitability and improve their sales. The company has reported a monthly double-digit growth since incorporating Google Cloud. This shows they were right to make decisions favouring company growth and improving customer trust.
