The Platform Administrator (PA) is the Infrastructure Operator's (IO) direct customer. The Administer section describes the features available to the PA in Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped.
During the design phase of projects and user clusters, the PA must take into consideration high-availability (HA) features that the IO implements on lower-level infrastructure such as hardware. The PA can configure HA at multiple levels. For example, during the creation of a cluster, the PA can activate an HA control plane.
Handover from Infrastructure Operator
After the Infrastructure Operator (IO) finishes the initial bootstrapping of the platform, they provide an access link for the newly created organization user interface (UI) that lets the PA configure projects and user clusters. If the IO integrates the organization with an identity provider, the PA can sign in using their own identity. See Connect to an identity provider for details.
See the Develop section for information about the PA's direct customer - the Application Operator (AO). For an overview of Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped, see the overview.
