Provides a simpler and more secure user experience

Vita Wallet, established in 2019, is a fintech based in Chile and Colombia. Its purpose is to enable companies and individuals to send and receive international payments from and to over 50 locations, twice as fast as traditional methods and with 70% lower fees.

Vita has 30 employees and focuses on Chilean and Colombian companies, mainly IT-related, and on young individuals with a need to send international payments.

The company stands out from its competitors in an increasingly challenging marketplace due to its fast payments, customized service, and the number of countries it serves.

Scalability targets

Vita aimed to boost the scalability and flexibility of its services to ensure that payments arrive more quickly and that companies and individuals have no problems when mobilizing their money internationally.

There was a basic premise behind the decision to make technology more agile and improve customer service quality: database scalability and server optimization.

The company had been using cloud services since its inception, and its goal was to leverage that technology to implement a low-cost growth system that would enable automated scale towards a mass market B2C product.

To this end, Vita started searching for a strategic partner that would support each of its technology needs. Choosing Zenta as a partner was pivotal because it has enabled Vita to issue bills for Google Cloud use in local currency and it has also supported the company in all IT-related decisions.

"At an in-person session at Google's offices, we explored and showed Vita Wallet all the alternatives we offer as a partner: continuous support and advice on the use of Google Cloud."

Technologies that automate payments

Google Cloud has supported Vita since day one. After taking part in the Google for Startups Accelerator program, the company decided to migrate its entire operations to the cloud.

Implementing Google Cloud solutions was easy and took only three months, mainly because the company already had experience working with the cloud and was technologically proficient with the tools available.

As a result, the organization managed to deploy a cross-border payment system in an automated, scalable way, with the possibility of handling mass orders. The main Google Cloud products used for this project were Google Kubernetes Engine, supporting the infrastructure quality control area; Cloud Run and App Engine, for application and production management; and Compute Engine and Cloud SQL, for VM and database management.

From the beginning, Google Cloud was the best cloud computing option for Vita. It quickly helped the company improve resource and cost management through integrated solutions and committed use discounts.

Zenta also helped the fintech improve its technical aspects, become more efficient, and achieve better processes. As Vita is a digital native tech-savvy company, the partner's role was essential for the company to learn more about the products and get the most out of them.

"It was critical for Vita to address our technological aspects with a company like Google Cloud as it allows us to have an extremely mass product with growth potential."

Productivity improvements that benefit everyone

In addition to optimizing costs and achieving greater stability and speed in development processes, Google Cloud's implementation brought significant changes to Vita's processes, mainly including task automation, which improved independence across teams and simplified the work of developers.

The improvement in daily work performance was mainly driven by Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Run, which provide great automation capabilities and enhancements in terms of costs and runtime, in addition to showcasing resources used in graphs.

The business impact of the changes was very significant. Thanks to implementing Google Cloud's solutions, app stability skyrocketed, as in-production bugs were remarkably reduced.

In addition, deployments that used to involve 30-minute manual tasks for developers have now been automated without downtime. This greatly improves productivity and speeds up the implementation of enhancements, which ultimately benefits end users.

A different experience in the cloud

Thanks to Google Cloud's technology, Vita Wallet achieved great business results. First, the company reached its goal of 37,000 registered customers and plans to reach 150,000 customers by the end of 2022.

The organization has also effected transactions for over USD 5 million per month, operating in two countries as sender. In addition, it has completed its first capital raising process, which illustrates the company's enormous growth in recent years.

Finally, running automated processes has been crucial to improving the practicality of development work, since coding advances much faster, and issues that used to take days or weeks to be solved are now dealt with quickly.

The business impact of automation and fast troubleshooting has been significant: freeing up time to work on new enhancements and integrations helps improve customer experience.

The company has also achieved a stability of nearly 99.99%, and no service downtime has been reported for any of the implemented solutions, which work quickly and effectively.

The future of payments in the cloud

Little by little, the company plans to implement new tools, such as BigQuery, AlloyDB, and Cloud Functions, among others, to continue improving productivity and extracting more value from data.

Vita's ultimate goal is to continue incorporating Google Cloud products that drive greater business automation and flexibility.

"Vita is a powerful company in the fintech market. Its technologies are very robust and have all the potential to continue growing towards the international market in the medium-term," says Danilo González, Field Google Cloud Leader at Zenta. Ongoing partner communication and support have been essential in the search for new solutions that help further optimize the company's current architecture.

"We recommend Google Cloud because it offers a plan for startups. It allows you to be flexible, grow, and give your users security. You don't have to worry about leaving your IT firm in the hands of a company like Google."
