About WideOps

WideOps is a Google Cloud partner with a proven track record of delivering state-of-the-art solutions, serving customers from all industry verticals and sizes.

Google Cloud results

  • Streamlines data infrastructure management to enable only five data engineering and business intelligence employees to serve more than 4 million monthly active users
  • Democratizes data insights via Looker to improve decision-making among more than 300 employees
  • Simplifies procuring other technologies, including Palo Alto Networks, Atlan, Mixpanel, and Airflow managed service by Astro through Google Cloud Marketplace

Why Google Cloud and WideOps

Papaya wanted a scalable, one-stop environment for all its analytics data infrastructure needs that could be managed as a service. Goals included meeting increasing player demands, improving experiences, and achieving new operating efficiencies. Google Cloud was identified as the best cloud provider based on its range of data analytics tools available natively. Google Cloud partner WideOps was chosen as the trusted partner for initial deployment and ongoing support.

What / How

Papaya now uses a combination of BigQuery, Looker, Pub/Sub, and Google Cloud Storage, along with other Google Cloud solutions, to power its data analytics engine. WideOps assists with the general IT assets and infrastructure management to give the Papaya staff the freedom to focus on gaming development, rolling out new features, and improving overall player experiences and satisfaction. BigQuery slots, or virtual CPUs used to execute SQL queries, are easily managed and reduce analytics costs.

"Looker is vital to our success. Our monetization teams can quickly check in-game performance in near real-time, user acquisition managers can evaluate the spending allocation through intuitive dashboards, and our matchmaking team ensures players in tournaments are properly matched. Google Cloud has transformed how we successfully manage a live service game operation."
