Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of Autotécnica Colombiana, Auteco Mobility offers innovative, tech-savvy, sustainable-mobility solutions that fulfill the transportation, recreation, and work needs of Colombians.
Well-known and supported by consumers after being in the business for more than 80 years, Auteco directly employs over 1,300 people at its plant, its spare parts and accessories distribution center, and its administrative offices throughout Colombia.
Besides manufacturing and assembling vehicles, the company has also strived to keep track of its users' experience. Digital tools have become essential in achieving that goal.

Auteco Mobility started using Google Cloud in 2020 after deciding to implement business data analytics capabilities and advanced systems for end customers for the first time in its history.
Google Cloud's solutions, which were integrated into a hybrid environment with another provider for ERP and email services, provided an efficient way to innovate and proved crucial for process automation and streamlining.
Adopting Big Data and artificial intelligence technologies enabled the company to start improving its data analytics, which led to better business decisions.

Technologies that add value
Implementing Google Cloud’s solutions focused on BigQuery, BigTable, and Cloud Run to support efforts to develop technology systems inside the company.
After conducting a preliminary analysis of each business unit's needs and drawing up a simple implementation roadmap supported by Google Cloud, the company worked on creating two business-critical systems.
The first one is Trakku, an IoT system to help users connect with their vehicles in an intelligent way. The second one is Lucía, a centralized analytics system integrating data from several administrative and business sources to build predictive models and run statistical analyses of the company’s operations.
Every system put in place during the process was monitored, automated, and optimized to ensure they were secure, scalable, and cost-effective, and they have been essential to bring technology democratization all around Auteco Mobility.

In the past, before implementing a cloud-based data analytics strategy, the company had to retrieve data from various scattered databases, which would often take weeks.
Adopting BigQuery gave Auteco the speed, quality, and automation it needed to validate hypotheses, find insights, improve its conversations with customers, and make better decisions.
User segmentation is another benefit of deploying Google Cloud. As obtaining actual user data was made difficult by a disparity in input criteria, Google Cloud's tools helped generate a statistical probability system to unify that information and segmented customers according to the marketing department's needs.
Several metrics illustrate how successful the deployment is. On the one hand, Trakku's architecture can now serve 80,000 users per node at the same time, and it is 90% cheaper than a traditional IoT service.
Data analytics processes, which used to take hours using traditional technologies, are now completed in under ten seconds with BigQuery. They also cover the company’s entire history, without constraints.
Auteco Mobility has also significantly improved cost-effectiveness. The company’s systems use the equivalent of 56 TB of data every month for under $300.
Google Cloud's tools have undoubtedly allowed Auteco to bring advanced services to its entire organization and transform work routines. The ability to process large data volumes and use data for decision-making resulted in more efficient portfolio and market-analytics processes, and freed people to spend their time more strategically and productively.
