This page describes how to create a fileshare in Dell PowerScale for Google Cloud.

In order to create a fileshare, you need an existing cluster with a ready status.

To create a fileshare from the Google Cloud console, follow these instructions:

  1. In the Google Cloud console navigation menu, click PowerScale and then click Clusters. The PowerScale Clusters page opens.

  2. Click the name of the cluster you want to manage.

  3. From the PowerScale Cluster Details page, click Add Shares.

  4. In the Create a PowerScale fileshare page, complete the following fields:

    • Name: Enter the name for the fileshare.
    • Fileshare ID: Enter a unique ID for the fileshare. You can click the Refresh icon to automatically generate a unique fileshare ID based on the Fileshare Name field.
    • Protocol: Select the protocols NFS or SMB for the fileshare. To create a multiprotocol share, clear both the NFS and SMB boxes.
    • Capacity: Use the slider or input box to select the amount of capacity to allocate to the share.

  5. Click Create. The PowerScale Cluster Details page opens, and the fileshares overview displays the fileshare that you created.
