Managed Microsoft AD allows you to deploy domain controllers to multiple regions. The authorized network can have a presence in any number of regions, but only the number of regions where domain controllers are deployed factor into pricing calculations. These examples demonstrate how and when costs are incurred.
All examples calculate the cost for the service scenario over a 30-day month.

$0.40 * 2 regions * 24 hours * 30 days = $576.00
Deploying domain controllers to an additional region does impact price, but also provides the benefits of locating domain controllers closer to the infrastructure, without having to manage multiple distinct AD domains. It simplifies future AD-dependent infrastructure deployments. It also eliminates the overhead associated with managing multiple AD domain-specific Security Identifier prefixes.
