To achieve efficient time management, SCM Latam deployed Google Cloud’s technology in its services. As a result, it can create new procedures to handle workplace issues, such as fighting absenteeism, accurately processing hours worked for appropriate compensation, creating optimized schedules to meet specific demands, and allocating the right people to the right place at the right time.

In more than 20 years of history, SCM Latam has faced and overcome several challenges to keep growing. Today, thanks to the dedication and commitment of its hundreds of employees, the company is aware of the importance of meeting customer demands, as companies expect more and more from their trusted services every day.
Supported by Tigabytes, SCM Latam understood its priority had to be providing a service that wouldn’t require customers to have a datacenter hosted in robust servers. The company’s goal was accessing data easily, anywhere and anytime. The first step to achieve that goal was transforming SCM Latam’s infrastructure by creating two projects.
In the first, the workforce management software used by the company and its associated services were migrated to the cloud. As it is a monolithic platform, designed to work on-premise, SCM Latam used Compute Engine to boot servers and increase resources in the database.
The second project consisted of building MyPalTime, an app that uses Cloud Run as its main API and a few Cloud Functions features. They also deployed Compute Engine for other services running on autoscaling machines.

Since it began using cloud technology, SCM Latam has seen significant changes in its infrastructure that confirm the successful deployment of Google Cloud’s services.
One of the main benefits is the speed to deploy and manage services. As a result, the company can upload environments for customers in just minutes, increasing agility and significantly reducing deployment times.
The cloud also helps SCM Latam optimize resources, as it no longer needs to install new physical servers and can spend more time assessing new projects. As highlighted by Full Stack engineer Sebastián Turén, "being in the cloud allows us to keep programming new, better features without worrying about the support infrastructure they need."
With improved management, the company has managed to achieve a 99.9% monthly uptime rate and can quickly react to any events, as experts are able to connect and provide fast solutions.
Another benefit is a lower cost per employee per month, which in turn cuts prices for customers, making SCM Latam’s offerings more competitive.
Google Cloud’s solutions have provided their flexibility to the company’s products and services, boosting sales and profitability. Sebastián Turén points out that "we now offer a comprehensive service, with no issues or need to deal with our customers’ IT departments to upload and buy new servers."
In addition, monitoring analytics tools help maintain, update, and track the uptime of every company asset 24/7.
