CybelAngel Joins Google Cloud Marketplace to enhance protection for Google Cloud customers

French startup CybelAngel's unique technology has helped it establish itself as a leader in the cybersecurity market when it comes to digital risk protection. The company protects major corporations that are extremely concerned about security issues. CybelAngel, which operates in many sectors with CAC 40 customers (Sanofi, TotalEnergies, Danone, and even Lagardère), set its sights two years ago on conquering the American market after raising a total of $36 million in 2020. To help realize its ambitions, the company migrated its infrastructure to Google Cloud and joined Google Cloud Marketplace.

Supporting Google Cloud Customers in their digital transformation

"Making our solution available on Google Cloud Marketplace allows Google Cloud customers to protect themselves by proactively reducing risks."

CybelAngel is evolving in the particularly sensitive cybersecurity market, where threats proliferate unabated and attacks are becoming more and more sophisticated. In this environment, companies must adopt a proactive approach to protect themselves effectively, in particular by reducing their external attack surface.

And that's exactly where CybelAngel comes in. The company provides the most comprehensive, ever-expanding scanning surface on the market. Its algorithms based on machine learning can identify threats before they turn into any attacks.

"We work in the field of prevention," explains Julia Osseland. "Our artificial intelligence algorithms are capable of sorting through the data available on the web in order to identify what belongs to our customers and what doesn't, what's critical and what isn't. The objective, of course, is to act before a problem arises."

Capitalizing on Google Cloud Marketplace to establish itself in the market

With a growth of 100% per year for several years now, CybelAngel doubles its number of customers year on year. What's more, the company has no intention of stopping there. To realize its ambitions, particularly on an international scale, the company is expanding its initiatives. Joining Google Cloud Marketplace is clearly part of this strategy. The company hopes to leverage the partnership to accelerate the purchasing process and more quickly reach agreements with customers who are looking to reinforce their cybersecurity by detecting and reducing their external exposure.

The successful strategy adopted by CybelAngel rapidly came to fruition: A few days after joining Google Cloud Marketplace, the company signed its first private offer (an offer published by a Google Cloud partner in the Producer Portal, which allows customers to buy products at a personalized price). "This is a big win for our teams, and one that reflects the potential offered by our partnership with Google Cloud," Julia Osseland is pleased to say.

Strengthened infrastructure supports expansion ambitions

To maximize its chances of success, CybelAngel chose to migrate its infrastructure to Google Cloud, starting in 2019. "We needed to scale up our storage, but we also needed to scale up the computational performance of our algorithms with a solution that was flexible enough to support our growth," explains Julia Osseland.

To increase its resilience and agility, the company adopted Google Kubernetes Engine during the migration and opted for Google Cloud's managed services once the opportunity arose. Synonymous as they are with time savings, managed services have allowed the Site Reliability Engineering team to reduce significantly the time it spends on maintenance, as stressed by Brice Santus, SRE Manager at CybelAngel: "Migration to managed services has resulted in a reorientation of the teams' efforts toward high-value issues. In particular, the migration has allowed us to focus on architecture design, fine tuning of key architecture components, and even security."

With a robust and reliable infrastructure and the ability to scale up easily to support its growth ambitions, CybelAngel has also freed itself from low-added-value tasks thanks to Google Cloud. This allows the company to support its customers with ever more cutting-edge solutions.
