Trii is a Colombian fintech that has revolutionized the way people invest in Latin American stock markets through an app, a 100% digital offering, the highest security standards and low fees. Since its inception, it has allowed over 95,000 citizens from Colombia, Chile, and Peru to make their first investments in their own country’s stock exchange.
In a financial sector that focuses on high net worth individuals and traditionally neglects people with savings wishing to improve their quality of life, Trii identified a multi-billion dollar market potential. That is why it developed a highly intuitive app targeting retail investors so that they can invest easily, securely, and affordably.
With a strong emphasis on stock market training, it became the only player with a 100% local perspective, directly connected to broker-dealers, stock exchanges, custodians, and regulators in each of the countries where it operates.
Simplifying complexity
Trii experienced tremendous growth in two years, and it became the fintech with the most operations on the Peruvian and Colombian stock exchanges. However, despite the simplicity of its customer-facing app, its in-house technology was rather complex.
The company had to connect to several partners in its back-office, such as the stock exchanges and clearing houses in each country, many of which had obsolete technologies.
Faced with the complex challenge of integrating these technologies into a single, user-friendly application, Trii knew from the outset that it needed an excellent partner to build a long-term relationship with.
For that reason, the fintech turned to Google Cloud solutions to develop the underlying infrastructure for its app.
From insights to an app: efficiency and reliability
Migration from its previous provider kicked off with App Engine to develop applications in a fully managed environment. Since then, the use of other solutions has gradually increased.
One of the company’s main uses of the new solutions is related to data management and analysis. As Trii had to process huge data volumes in tight timeframes, it needed to quickly connect to data and trading sources. Google Cloud offered simple, effective tools, such as BigQuery and Firebase, enabling the company not only to solve its customers' requests but also to gain valuable insights for the business.
Networking solutions, such as VPC and Cloud VPN, also helped integrate multiple entities in its microservices architecture, while Cloud Run helped improve operating cost-efficiency. The company has also optimized task automation management using Cloud Tasks and Cloud Scheduler.

Implementing Google Cloud boosted Trii’s growth, consolidated its presence in the region, and provided support for specific marketing initiatives. This included its first "cross-country no fee" journey, when more than 10,000 exchange operations were performed on a single day, three times more than the market as a whole.
Supported by a proactive partner like Google Cloud, which aims to generate value, the fintech was able to improve its flexibility and provide top-level services to its over 200,000 customers across three countries.
As a result, the company has achieved product availability exceeding 95% in its 700,000+ market operations, and an average CSAT of over 90%, which highlights the quality of service it provides to end users.
In terms of data analytics, the benefits have also been tangible, as Google Cloud tools have unlocked real-time insights about users, including what they like, or the issues they have, and more, thus offering an extremely user-friendly experience.

After consolidating the use of current cloud solutions, the fintech plans to implement new tools.
To this end, the Trii team is constantly testing new services as they become available. Given that these trials have even helped the company solve issues, it has adopted some solutions right after launch.
