Zero service interruptions in complex RISE migration

When SAP launched RISE with SAP (RISE) in 2021, Birlasoft spotted a unique opportunity to bring a new dimension to its enterprise solutions, through customization of SAP's new "business transformation-as-a-service" platform. As a cloud native solution, RISE is a fully integrated suite of SAP services, including Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Business Process Intelligence, Business Platform and Analytics, Business Networks, and Outcome-driven Services and Tools.
Since its origins, Birlasoft has driven a philosophy of gaining deep firsthand knowledge of the solutions it offers. To offer clients best-in-class RISE transformation, Birlasoft therefore felt the need to first migrate its own SAP systems from on-premise to the new cloud-based RISE platform. That required selecting the right public cloud hosting infrastructure, one that offered unlimited scale and agility to unleash the full power of RISE.
After considering a range of providers, Birlasoft tapped SAP on Google Cloud, the custom solution of Google Cloud to build, deploy and manage SAP systems. According to Brij Mishra, Head of Enterprise Architecture, Birlasoft, SAP on Google Cloud hit the sweet spot for the RISE migration by offering world class compute capabilities, secure-by-design infrastructure, and intelligent cloud tools for machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) transformation.
The clincher was Google Cloud's proactive attitude toward teamwork to drive the future of enterprise transformation, says Brij Mishra. In fact, Birlasoft's journey to RISE migration turned into a publicly announced partnership with Google Cloud to help organizations accelerate their digital transformation strategies globally.
For Birlasoft itself, the partnership with Google Cloud is putting the firm on track to complete its ambitious migration to RISE with zero delays and a 99.7% service-level agreement from SAP on application availability.

According to Brij Mishra, one of the key benefits of the migration to RISE with SAP on Google Cloud is platform agility that enables Birlasoft to add its own proprietary accelerators on top of the SAP platform. That means Birlasoft can showcase its own expertise in tailor-made accelerators for specific industries, with advanced analytics dashboards using SAP data.

An open-ended partnership to invent the future of enterprise transformation
Birlasoft's RISE implementation journey with Google Cloud has opened new avenues for collaboration to bring value and innovation to global enterprises. As part of their partnership, for example, Birlasoft and Google Cloud will also launch a Google Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) with 200+ Google Cloud specialists.
