You can edit the number of GPUs for a notebook instance to increase or decrease the number of hardware accelerators available for your notebook instance.
In order to edit the number of GPUs for a notebook instance, you must first stop the instance. For instructions on how to stop a notebook instance, see Shut down a notebook instance.
After you have shut down your notebook instance, follow these steps to edit the number of hardware accelerators available for your instance:
Select the stopped notebook instance that you want to modify.
A stopped notebook is identified with the "stopped" icon.
In the GPUs column, select the type of GPUs that you want, and then the number of GPUs that you want for your notebook instance. For information about the different GPUS, see GPUs on Compute Engine.
After AI Platform Notebooks has finished updating the GPUs for your notebook instance, you can start the instance by selecting your instance and then clicking Start.
