Cloud Healthcare API pricing
This section explains pricing details for Cloud Healthcare API.
Pricing overview
Cloud Healthcare API pricing is based on a combination of the following:
Pipeline processing
Pipeline processing charges are based on the amount of FHIR data that the mapping pipelines generate. Pipeline processing is measured in gibibytes (GiBs), where 1 GiB is 1,073,741,824 bytes.
The price per GiB is $38.00.
Data storage
All Cloud Healthcare API storage charges are in the Structured Storage category. For data storage pricing, see Data storage.
Data storage charges are applied for the following:
- Data, such as reconciliation data and lineage data, generated by Cloud Healthcare API operations.
- The Data Mapper IDE, including necessary metadata and mapping configurations in each Data Mapper workspace.
When converted to Structured Storage, data generated by pipeline processing can increase by up to 1.5 times in size. Indexing the data can then increase the size by an additional four times.
Request volume
For request volume pricing, see Request volume.
Cloud Healthcare API methods use the following request types:
Standard operations:
datasets.getdatasets.updateHarmonizationInstancepipelineJobs.createpipelineJobs.getpipelineJobs.listpipelineJobs.listRevisionspipelineJobs.patch
Multi-operation Request operations:

Data Mapper IDE pricing
You are not charged for using the Data Mapper IDE to write mapping configurations. However, you are charged for data stored in BigQuery used for data snapshots, mapping previews, and mapping validation. For more information, see BigQuery pricing.
Additional pricing
You are charged separately for the use of Google Cloud resources outside of Cloud Healthcare API. These include data stored in Cloud Healthcare API FHIR stores, BigQuery, and Spanner.
