Panoramica
Il tipo di macchina determina alcune specifiche della tua istanza di Notebook gestiti, come la quantità di memoria, i core virtuali e i limiti dei dischi permanenti.
La modifica del tipo di macchina può migliorare le prestazioni o contribuire a evitare errori causati da un elevato utilizzo della memoria.
Le GPU forniscono l'accelerazione hardware che può migliorare il rendimento
del codice del notebook. Ti consigliamo di aggiungere o aumentare il numero di GPU per migliorare le prestazioni oppure, per ridurre il costo di esecuzione dell'istanza di notebook gestita, di rimuovere le GPU.
Prima di modificare un tipo di macchina o una configurazione GPU
Tieni presente quanto segue prima di apportare modifiche al tipo di macchina o alla configurazione della GPU dell'istanza di Notebook gestiti.
Implicazioni per la fatturazione
Ogni tipo di macchina e configurazione GPU viene fatturato a una tariffa diversa.
Assicurati di comprendere le implicazioni relative ai prezzi dell'applicazione di una modifica.
Ad esempio, un tipo di macchina e2-highmem-2 costa più di un tipo di macchina e2-standard-2.
La modifica di un tipo di macchina potrebbe influire anche sugli sconti per utilizzo sostenuto.
Gli sconti per utilizzo sostenuto vengono calcolati separatamente per categorie diverse nella stessa regione. Se modifichi i tipi di macchine in modo che il nuovo tipo di macchina appartenga a una categoria diversa, il tempo di esecuzione successivo della VM dell'istanza viene conteggiato ai fini dello sconto per utilizzo sostenuto della nuova categoria.
Migrazione a un tipo di macchina più piccolo
Se passi da un tipo di macchina con più risorse a un tipo di macchina con meno risorse, ad esempio da un tipo di macchina e2-standard-8 a un tipo di macchina e2-standard-2, potresti riscontrare problemi di risorse hardware o limitazioni delle prestazioni perché i tipi di macchina più piccoli sono meno potenti di quelli più grandi.
Modificare il tipo di macchina e configurare le GPU
Per modificare il tipo di macchina o configurare le GPU su un'istanza di notebook gestita:
Nella Google Cloud console, vai alla pagina Notebook gestiti.
Nella colonna Nome notebook, fai clic sul nome dell'istanza da modificare.
Viene visualizzata la pagina Dettagli del notebook.
Fai clic sulla scheda Hardware.
Nella sezione Modifica configurazione hardware,
seleziona il Tipo di macchina che vuoi utilizzare.
Se sono disponibili GPU per la combinazione di zona, ambiente e tipo di macchina dell'istanza, puoi configurarle.
Nella sezione GPU, seleziona il tipo di GPU e il numero di GPU che vuoi utilizzare.

Se non hai già installato i driver GPU richiesti sull'istanza,
seleziona Installa automaticamente il driver GPU NVIDIA
per installarli automaticamente al successivo avvio.

You may want to add or increase the number of GPUs\nfor greater performance, or, to reduce the cost of running\nyour managed notebooks instance,\nyou may want to remove GPUs.\n\nBefore you change a machine type or GPU configuration\n-----------------------------------------------------\n\nConsider the following before you make any changes to\nyour managed notebooks instance's machine type\nor GPU configuration.\n\n### Billing implications\n\nEach machine type and GPU configuration is billed at a different rate.\nMake sure you understand\nthe [pricing](/compute/vm-instance-pricing) implications of making a change.\nFor example, an `e2-highmem-2` machine type costs more than an\n`e2-standard-2` machine type.\n\nChanging a machine type might also affect sustained use discounts.\nSustained use discounts are calculated [separately for different\ncategories](/compute/docs/sustained-use-discounts#calculating_discounts) in\nthe same region. If you change machine types so that the new machine type is\nin a different category, the subsequent running time of\nyour instance's VM counts toward the\nsustained use discount of the new category.\n\n### Moving to a smaller machine type\n\nIf you move from a machine type with more resources to a machine type with fewer\nresources, such as moving from an `e2-standard-8` machine type to an\n`e2-standard-2`, you might run into hardware resource issues or performance\nlimitations because smaller machine types are less powerful than larger machine\ntypes.\n\nChange the machine type and configure GPUs\n------------------------------------------\n\n| **Note:** To change the machine type or GPUs for a managed notebooks, instance must be running.\n\nTo change the machine type or configure the GPUs on\na managed notebooks instance, complete the following steps:\n\n1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the **Managed notebooks** page.\n\n [Go to Managed notebooks](https://console.cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/workbench/managed)\n2. In the **Notebook name** column, click the name of the\n instance that you want to modify.\n\n The **Notebook details** page opens.\n3. Click the **Hardware** tab.\n\n4. In the **Modify hardware configuration** section,\n select the **Machine type** that you want to use.\n\n5.
