Audit reports

This section describes an audit trail for the configuration and event details that occurred on a backup/recovery appliance.

Audit trail report by appliance

This report shows the audit trail of the configuration and other commands that are executed on each selected appliance with the details of the user and system details (source IP address) that initiated the command, as well as the status (success or failure) of the command.

Column descriptions

  • Date. Date when command is executed.

  • Source. Component where command is delegated from.

  • User Name. Name of the user.

  • User Full Name. User's first name and last name are concatenated with a period (firstname.lastname).

  • Source IP Address. IP Address of the system from which the command is initiated.

  • Destination IP Address. IP Address of the system on which the command is executed.

  • Privileged. True for privileged users and blank for rest of the users.

  • Details. Command used and the status are delimited with a colon (:).

Report parameters

  • Select Appliances. Name of the Appliance on which the report will be generated. Appliance is selected from the multi-select drop-down list.

  • Privileged. Check box option to filter reports to show Privileged user data.

  • Unprivileged. Check box option to filter reports to show Non-Privileged user data.

  • User Name. Filter for User Name, you can specify * as a wildcard when used it appends any number of characters to the string. You can search for a set of User Names with <space> or <space> in between the names.

  • Details. Filter for Details, you can specify * as a wildcard when used it appends any number of characters to the string. You can search for a set of Details with <space> or <space> in between the input values.

  • Select Start Date. Start date of the reporting interval with the default selection as DAY-1.

  • Select End Date. End date of the reporting interval with the default selection as DAY.

    The default reporting interval is the last 24 hours as defined by DAY and DAY-1.

  • Hide Headers & Footers. Checking this option hides all sections except the table report, which is used to export reports in CSV format.

Event details report

This Event Details report shows the event details on a particular appliance over a selected period.

Column descriptions

  • Severity. Severity of the event (error warning or info)

  • Event Time. Timestamp when the event happened.

  • Event Id. Event type identifier.

  • Error Message. Reason or description for the failure.

  • Error Code. Unique error identifier.

Report parameters

  • Select Appliances. Name of the appliance on which the report will be generated. Appliance to be selected from the multi-select drop-down list.

  • Severity. Event type on which report will be generated.

  • Show Backup Plan Violations. Includes or excludes backup plan violations from the list. Default is to show backup plan violations.

  • Select Start Date. Start date of the reporting interval with the default selection as DAY-1.

  • Select End Date. End date of the reporting interval with the default selection as DAY.

  • Hide Headers & Footers. Checking this option hides all sections except the table report, which is used to export reports in CSV format.
