Find Out Your Billing Cycle

Your costs are charged automatically in one of two ways, whichever comes first:

  • A regular monthly cycle (monthly billing)
  • When your account has accrued a certain amount of charges (threshold billing)

To view your billing cycle and find out when you will be billed:

  1. Go to the billing page on the Google Cloud Platform Console.
  2. If you have more than one billing account, select Go to linked billing account to manage the current project's billing. To locate a different billing account, select Manage billing accounts.
  3. In the Overview page, click Payment overview.
  4. Find your billing cycle in the top card, along with your current outstanding balance and your last payment date and amount:

    • Monthly automatic payments: this billing account has a monthly billing cycle and it will be charged automatically on the second day of every month for charges accrued during the previous month.
    • Automatic payments: this billing account has a threshold billing cycle and it will be charged automatically when the costs accrued meet the threshold, or thirty days after your last bill, whichever comes first.

Threshold billing is described in more detail in the following section.

Find out what your spending threshold is

A billing threshold is a level of spending that, when met, triggers a charge to your billing account. The threshold starts at a set amount which is raised automatically if your costs reach that amount within 30 days. Otherwise, you are charged 30 days after your last bill. Fees are accrued in the period between charges.

Google Cloud Platform Billing Cycles

To find out what your spending threshold is:

  1. Go to the Google Cloud Platform Console.
  2. Open the console left side menu and select Billing
  3. If you have more than one billing account, select Go to linked billing account to manage the current project's billing. To locate a different billing account, select Manage billing accounts.
  4. In the Overview page, click Payment overview.
  5. View the threshold amount next to How you pay. For example, if your billing threshold is $1000.00, you might see a message that says "You'll be charged when your balance reaches $1000.00 or 30 days after your last automatic payment, whichever comes first."

You won't be emailed or notified when your billing threshold increases, but you can find your current threshold any time by going to your billing pages.
