Google Cloud offers different support packages to meet different needs, such as 24/7 coverage, phone support, and access to a technical support manager. For more information, see Google Cloud Support.
In the past, Google has provided support on open source Istio installations running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), whether self-installed OSS or using the Istio on GKE Add-on. We now encourage all customers who want support on service mesh to adopt Anthos Service Mesh which is covered under Google Cloud support agreements and supports a majority of Istio features.
Google Support will no longer provide support for Istio installations. Istio users can use open source channels (Istio Discuss, GitHub, StackOverflow or any of the channels in the Istio Community). Istio users on GKE or Compute Engine will still receive support for the base platform (GKE or Compute Engine).
Premium support customers should contact their support representatives with any questions.
