El servicio de copia de seguridad y DR descubre los archivos compartidos del bloque de mensajes del servidor (SMB), antes conocido como CIFS, en un host de Windows con credenciales de Windows. Antes de ejecutar la detección de aplicaciones para agregar los recursos compartidos de SMB a Backup and DR, debes tener lo siguiente:
Para descubrir los archivos compartidos SMB, debes tener credenciales válidas del servidor de Windows.
Usa las siguientes instrucciones para validarlos:
Accede al servidor de Windows de destino como el usuario con el que deseas compartir el acceso a la copia de seguridad y a la DR, y asegúrate de que todos los recursos compartidos de SMB de los que deseas crear una copia de seguridad sean visibles. Esto valida que tienes el nombre de usuario y la contraseña correctos.
Si los recursos compartidos SMB que deseas ya están asignados y presentes, continúa con el siguiente paso. Para todos los recursos compartidos SMB nuevos, usa el Windows Explorer para asignar el recurso compartido SMB de destino a una letra de unidad local. No especifiques credenciales adicionales cuando asignes la unidad. Especifica Reconnect at logon.
Instala el agente de Backup and DR y genera una clave secreta
Sigue estas instrucciones para agregar un nuevo host de Windows Server a la consola de administración:
En la consola de administración, ve a Administrar>Hosts.
Selecciona + Agregar host.
En el formulario Agregar host, ingresa el nombre y un nombre amigable opcional.
El nombre de un host debe comenzar con una letra y puede contener letras y números (0-9). No se permiten caracteres de guion bajo ("_").
Ingresa la dirección IP del host en Dirección IP. Haz clic en el signo más + para agregarlo.
En la sección Appliances, selecciona los dispositivos administrados por la consola de administración que entregan este host. Si la lista es larga, puedes usar el cuadro de búsqueda para encontrar un electrodoméstico o un grupo de ellos específico.
Deja Tipo de host como Genérico.
En la configuración del agente de copia de seguridad y DR, completa los siguientes pasos:
Por lo general, el puerto del agente de Backup and DR es el 5106. Si es otro, ingresa el número de puerto.
Agrega credenciales para el host. Para los recursos compartidos SMB que se deben descubrir, debes proporcionar un nombre de usuario y una contraseña que puedan acceder a esos recursos compartidos SMB y que se hayan validado en la sección Credenciales del servidor de Windows.
Debes proporcionar una clave secreta que el agente de copia de seguridad y DR genere en los servidores host de Windows para inicializar las comunicaciones de confianza entre el host y el agente de copia de seguridad y DR. Solo debes hacerlo una vez. Si no
tienes la clave secreta, instala el agente de copia de seguridad y DR en un host de Windows para generar una.
Haz clic en Agregar.
Descubre los archivos compartidos de SMB
Para agregar recursos compartidos SMB, debes hacer lo siguiente:
Descubre el descubrimiento de aplicaciones SMB con uno de los siguientes métodos:
En la consola de administración, haz clic en el menú desplegable Copia de seguridad y recuperación, selecciona Copia de seguridad y, luego, Todas las apps.

Selecciona el host que agregaste en la sección Agregar host SMB y haz clic en Descubrir.
Una vez que se descubran los recursos compartidos de SMB, podrás encontrarlos con el filtro SMB en la página Aplicaciones.

Log into the target Windows server as the user you intend to share with\n Backup and DR and ensure that all SMB shares that you want to back up are\n visible. This validates that you have the correct username and password.\n\n2. If the SMB shares that you want are already mapped and present, then move to\n the next step. For all new SMB shares, use Windows Explorer to map the\n target SMB share to a local drive letter. Don't specify additional\n credentials when mapping the drive. Specify **Reconnect at logon**.\n\nInstall the Backup and DR agent and generate secret key\n-------------------------------------------------------\n\nYou need to have the secret key to provide access to the SMB host.\nIf you haven't already done so,\n[install the Backup and DR Agent using the agent install](/backup-disaster-recovery/docs/configuration/windows-agent).\n\nAdd the SMB host\n----------------\n\n| **Note:** If you have added the Windows server to Backup and DR as a Compute Engine instance or as a VMware VM, then a host for this VM already exists and you don't need to add it again using the following procedure. Instead find and edit that host and proceed from [step 7](#step7).\n\nUse these instructions to add a new Windows Server host to the management console:\n\n1. In the management console, go to **Manage** \\\u003e **Hosts**.\n\n2. Select **+ Add Host**.\n\n3. In the **Add Host** form, enter the name and an optional friendly name.\n The name of a host must start with a letter, and can contain letters\n and digits (0-9). Underscore ('_') characters are not allowed.\n\n4. Enter the IP address of the host in **IP Address** . Click the **plus sign +**\n to add it.\n\n5. In the **Appliances** section, select the management console managed\n appliances that serve this host. If the list is long, you can use the search\n box to find a specific appliance or group of appliances.\n\n6. Leave **Host Type** as **Generic**.\n\n7. In the Backup and DR agent settings, complete the following steps:\n\n - Backup and DR agent port is normally port 5106. If it is anything else,\n enter the port number.\n\n - Add credentials for the host. For SMB shares that need to be discovered,\n you must supply a username and password that can access those SMB shares\n and validated in [Windows server credentials](#validate) section.\n\n - You need to supply a secret key generated on the Windows host servers by the\n Backup and DR agent, to initialize trusted communications between the\n host and Backup and DR agent. This only needs to be done once. If you don't\n have the secret key, generate one by\n [Install the Backup and DR agent on a Windows host](/backup-disaster-recovery/docs/configuration/windows-agent).\n\n8. Click **Add**.\n\nDiscover SMB shares\n-------------------\n\nTo add SMB shares, you must do the following:\n\n1. Discover the SMB application discovery using either of the following methods:\n\n - In the management console, click the **Back up \\& Recover** drop-down menu and select **Back up** , and then select **All Apps**.\n\n - Go to **App Manager** \\\u003e **Applications** , select\n **Add Applications** and then select **All Apps**.\n\n2. Select the host that you added in [Add SMB host](#host) section and click\n **Discover**.\n\n After the SMB shares are discovered, you can find them using the **SMB**\n filter in the **Applications** page.\n | **Note:** In order to find the share, the username and password for the host server must be set to the user that mapped the shares on the server.
