Costing best practices
This page presents best practices to optimize costs for Google Cloud VMware Engine.
You can view and download pricing information from the pricing table, and access SKU information with the Cloud Billing Catalog API.
Optimize costs
To optimize costs for Google Cloud VMware Engine, see the following suggestions:
- VMware Engine consumption costs vary per region.
- Note that VMware Engine nodes that use a reduced core count are priced the same as full compute nodes.
- Oversubscribing VMware Engine compute capacity is a standard practice and doesn't incur additional charges. A higher oversubscription ratio might help you decrease the number of effective billable nodes in the environment, but can affect application performance. When sizing enterprise workloads, begin with a 4:1 ratio, and modify it based on other factors applicable to your use case.
