Export inventory and performance data

This document describes how to export your inventory of assets and the performance data collected for the assets.

Export your inventory

Migration Center lets you export your assets to a Google Sheets file in your Google Drive, which you can then share with your colleagues or customers.

Export all in scope assets

You can export your in scope assets from the Reports catalog and from the Assets page.

Reports catalog page

To export all of the in scope assets in your inventory, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Reports catalog page.

    Go to Reports catalog

  2. In the Assets section, click Asset details export, then click Export servers.

  3. Click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

To export all of the in scope assets in your inventory, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Assets page.

    Go to Assets

  2. Click  Export  > Export asset details, then to confirm, click Export.

  3. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

Filter and export assets

If you only want to export assets that satisfy certain conditions, first filter the asset, and then export the filtered assets.

Reports catalog page

To filter and export the assets, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Reports catalog page.

    Go to Reports catalog

  2. In the Assets section, click Asset details export, then click Export servers.

  3. Use the Filter tab to select assets based on properties and values. For example, filter assets based on the OS or asset group. You can apply multiple filters at the same time.

  4. Click Export.

  5. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

Export out of scope assets

To export the out of scope assets, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Assets page.

    Go to Assets

  2. On the Assets page, click Out of scope. Optionally, use the Filter tab to select assets based on properties and values. For example, filter assets based on the OS or asset group. You can apply multiple filters at the same time.

  3. Click  Export  > Export asset details, then to confirm, click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

Export groups of assets

You can export your groups of assets from the Reports catalog and from the Groups page.

To export one or more groups of assets, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Reports catalog page.

    Go to Reports catalog

  2. In the Assets section, click Asset details export, then click Export by groups.

  3. From the list of groups, select the groups that you want to export, then click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

To export one or more groups of assets, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Groups page.

    Go to Groups

  2. From the list of groups, select the groups that you want to export.

  3. Click  Export  > Export asset details, then to confirm, click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

Export performance data

Migration Center lets you export the performance data collected from your assets with discovery client or mcdc CLI to a Google Sheets file in your Google Drive. A performance data export contains daily aggregated metrics from your assets.

You can export metrics for the past available days, from a minimum of 10 up to a maximum of 420 days. You can export at most 10,000 assets in a single report, and the number of days that you can export is limited by the number of assets that you include in the report.

Export performance data for all in scope assets

You can export the performance data for your in scope assets from the Reports catalog and from the Assets page.

To export the performance data for all of your assets, follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Reports catalog page.

    Go to Reports catalog

  2. In the Assets section, click Performance data export, then click Export servers.

  3. Click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

To export the performance data for all of your assets, follow these steps:

  2. Click  Export  > Export performance data.

  3. In the dialog that appears, select the maximum number of days that you want to export for each asset, then click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

Filter assets and export performance data

To limit the performance data export to selected assets, filter them first by specifying the conditions that you want to apply to your export.

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Reports catalog page.

    Go to Reports catalog

  2. In the Assets section, click Performance data export, then click Export servers.

  5. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

  2. In the Assets section, click Performance data export, then click Export by groups.

  3. From the list of groups, select the groups that you want to export, then click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Groups page.

  2. Click  Export  > Export performance data.

  3. In the dialog that appears, select the maximum number of days that you want to export for each asset, then click Export.

  4. After the export finishes, to view the report, click Open spreadsheet.

View recent exported reports

Migration Center lets you view the last 100 reports that you've generated. You can't see reports generated by other users, nor reports generated in other Google Cloud projects.
