Box, a leader in intelligent enterprise content management (ECM), recently introduced the Box Agent and Box AI Studio. These no-code configuration tools empower non-technical positions to create custom, purpose-built AI agents tailored to their specific workflows, including the customers choice of leading AI models like Google's Gemini models. The agents authenticate to the company's Box instance so the employees can quickly and safely tap into insights from troves of unstructured data across the organization's files, folders, and Box Hubs—all within the bounds of existing user permissions and security settings.
Also to enable customers to easily implement multi-agent systems for more complex workflows, Box Agents will be available in the upcoming Agent Gallery as part of the Gemini Enterprise app. The agent uses the Agent2Agent (A2A) Protocol and the Box MCP server to interact seamlessly with other Gemini Enterprise agents. This empowers users to securely search, analyze, and trigger workflows using their Box content.

The AI agents can automatically pull structured data from unstructured files, populate other corporate systems, and trigger new workflows. They can also create new documents based on results and save them back into Box.
A wealth manager at a financial services firm can automatically create timely investment summaries that combine the firm's proprietary research in Box with real-time market data from another Gemini Enterprise agent. Life sciences researchers can mine their company's R&D archives in Box and cross-reference them against external databases to identify promising research opportunities. Public sector workers can efficiently handle citizen services by using AI agents to locate and extract key information from records in Box, and then interact with a case management agent to initiate and report resolutions.

Box supports all of the latest frontier AI models, but Gemini, accessed through Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, has been part of the stack powering Box AI since the beginning. Additionally, Box uses BigQuery extensively for reporting and processing the structured aspects of unstructured data, leveraging native integrations to Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
