Migrated GB: Approximately 3 TB from emails and around 20 TB from SharePoint, OneDrive and groups

The main goal of Almundo is to transform people through travel, which is why it has become an omnichannel travel agency that offers differentiated products for its clients.

The company has 100 points of sale in Argentina and expects to reach 200 by the end of 2019. It has operations in some of the main markets in Latin America such as Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.

With 800 professionals working in all areas of the business and more than 330 travel experts whose goal is to create customized experiences, the challenge became to transform the ecosystem into a much more collaborative model, where teams could work in a more coordinated way, creating an impact on productivity.

Almundo has 3 core pillars which determine its actions: closeness, trust and convenience. They believe people are what make the difference. These differentials make it the largest omnichannel company in Latin America.

“We needed a collaborative tool in the cloud that allows us to improve real-time teamwork and have agile and centralized management with lower costs,"

Gabriela Pinedo, PM in Almundo.

That search led the omnichannel company to work with Fusion, a certified Google partner, trained in Google Cloud Platform’s products sales, implementation and support.

In this case, after a Fusion analysis of Almundo's needs, the first step was to implement Google Workspace, which offers a set of ideal tools for a 100%-digital company whose specific requirements lay in collaborative work, distributed access, availability and productivity of work teams.

“From the data that were migrated, approximately 3 TB came from emails and around 20 TB of data were files hosted in SharePoint, OneDrive and groups,”

Walter Dozetas, co-owner of Fusion.

Throughout a three-month process, Fusion was responsible for the migration of 2,350 accounts, including groups and room resources. Although there was a slight initial resistance from some areas that relied on the legacy tools, they quickly realized that the Google Workspace tools worked together and allowed for improvements to the work culture.

"Before implementing Google Workspace, only some workers had full access to the apps and now everyone has access, which allows us to have greater visibility of everyone’s performance. We fully monitor all users,"

Mirta Lapsenzon, Information Security Manager of Almundo.

The work teams gladly adopted the ease with which they could work simultaneously on the same document in Drive and Sheets, which was very useful, especially in the administrative areas. A clear example was a keynote made to the company's investors, during which the "Slides" tool was used and 250 people who were working simultaneously in different countries and time zones actively participated in the meeting.

Adopting Google Workspace helped to optimize the coordination of the teams distributed across the four countries where Almundo has operations: Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil.

There’s no doubt that the change had a positive impact on how the different teams work, and they now have tools that make information delivery quicker.

Another benefit of migration is found in the security area since the "Data Loss Prevention" module was implemented, which ensures customer information is protected and encrypted, providing reliability to the business.

"The configuration of the tool integrated in the suite was made using rules. In his previous mail service, third parties were used to achieve the same goal,"

Walter Dozetas, co-owner of Fusion.

A Technological and Cultural Transformation

Almundo has the Great Place to Work 2018 recognition, showing the commitment to create an ideal environment for its employees and the migration to Google Workspace that is part of this commitment.

The possibility of working in the cloud, with a platform with simple and quick usability, has impacted the teams’ productivity.

"We weren’t used to taking full advantage of the tools we had available and today we have implemented not only a technological migration, but also a cultural transformation using the Google Workspace tools, which have improved the company's work dynamics and agility,"

Gabriela Pinedo, PM in Almundo.

The agency knew that in order to stay true to the goal of transforming people through travel, it was first necessary to look inward, improve the environment and provide tools for its professionals to make it possible to democratize the travel experience.
