Google Cloud Terms of Service Agreement Overview

The Terms of Service (ToS) are the contractual terms governing your use of Google Cloud. To help explain Google Cloud’s approach to contracting, we recommend reviewing this outline. If you have any questions, be sure to check out our support hub for more information.

Basics

The ToS are legal agreements that outline each party’s rights and obligations, including (1) what you can expect from us as your service provider, (2) what we expect from you when you use the applicable product, and (3) our business practices. Unless otherwise noted, the ToS are global documents, intended to simplify contracting across regions.

Each group of Google Cloud products has either an associated ToS or other online agreement, as can be found here by clicking on the applicable product. We seek to ensure consistency across the ToS for all Google Cloud products, but each ToS includes provisions specifically applicable to the relevant Google Cloud product. If you are using multiple Google Cloud products (e.g. Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace), your use of each individual product is covered by its respective ToS.

Organization

The ToS are broadly organized in three general parts:

i. The terms that describe the business and legal relationship between you and Google for your use of Google Cloud products, including definitions of key concepts.

ii. Additional terms, collectively called the “URL Terms,” that are specific to one or more products and incorporated by reference into the ToS.

iii. Region-specific terms that apply if your billing address is in the applicable region.

URL Terms and Other Resources

URL Terms are additional contractual terms as described above, covering topics such as data protection, support, SLAs, and acceptable use policies. We may update our URL Terms, including when we launch new products and services, and to reflect new laws and regulations. The relevant URL Terms, other policies, and resources for each product or service are available at cloud.google.com/product-terms

Changes and Applicability

As our business practices and offerings evolve, we may make changes to the ToS from time to time. We will inform you of most material changes before they take effect, although some changes (e.g. that are required by law, or apply to new functionality) will apply immediately. Your continued use of the products after any ToS changes take effect will constitute acceptance of those changes.
