PIPA (Korea)

The Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), first enacted in 2011 and subsequently amended multiple times (including in 2023), along with a related Presidential Enforcement Decree, regulates the collection, usage, provision, and other processing of personal information by governmental and private entities.

Google Cloud supports customer compliance with the PIPA through strong security measures, contractual commitments, and adherence to international standards. Google Cloud's infrastructure is designed to protect user data, and its services help customers meet PIPA requirements such as data access, correction, and deletion, as well as breach notification.

We have published a whitepaper to describe how Google Cloud implements data privacy and security capabilities to help our customers comply with the PIPA. Please refer to this white paper for more details.
