VOGSY's global headquarters details

A visionary approach

Co-founded by Leo Koster and Mark van Leeuwen, VOGSY provides innovative cloud-based software that helps service-based companies (such as consulting firms, marketing agencies) manage their entire business, from the client opportunity all the way to invoicing, especially when they operate globally. VOGSY's mission is to turn state-of-the-art, leading-edge technology into accessible, high-value tools that help organizations deliver better project outcomes.

VOGSY's story begins with Leo Koster's three-decade vision in the IT industry. Koster was an early pioneer, building his first online application in the late 1990s, when few understood what an online application was, and many distrusted the internet. "In the first years we were way, way too early for the market," recalls Leo Koster. His vision for VOGSY was ahead of its time, yet he achieved the first commercial implementation of an online ERP as early as 2001.

By 2013-2014, the challenge had shifted from market acceptance to managing complexity: companies leading international projects with complex infrastructures needed a new solution. This period marked the beginning of VOGSY and its partnership with Google Cloud.

The "easiest to understand" platform

While seeking a modern platform, Leo Koster evaluated competitors like Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, and Salesforce. He ultimately chose Google Cloud because it was "super easy to understand" and the most approachable cloud platform at that time. Koster recalls people were surprised you could run an ERP app on Google Cloud — most chose other, more expensive platforms out of habit. VOGSY consequently became the first cloud ERP solution built entirely on Google Cloud.

The scale-up has opened an office in Boston and serves over 60 clients worldwide. What about now? "We have no reason to look for another platform," says Koster, who adds he has never encountered a single issue with Google Cloud.

Thinking big

The partnership with Google Cloud is defined by a shared commitment to innovation. Mark van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO, highlights the core advantage of this alignment: "We share the same innovation DNA," and that's why the company can get a head start on all the new tech that comes out of Google.

Since launch, VOGSY has maintained zero downtime. It continues to integrate key Google Cloud tools such as Looker for enterprise Business Intelligence (BI), the Agent Development Kit (ADK), and many others such as App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Firestore in Datastore mode, and Vertex AI services.

The main customer benefit is outstanding value for money: VOGSY helps easily manage the entire "lead-to-cash" cycle in any "multi" context (multi-currencies, multi-countries). For instance, one international client reduced their month-end financial close across five global entities from a two-week ordeal to just one or two days, saving 4-6 days of senior finance time every month. Moreover, the ERP platform gives teams time back to focus on the real business, which leads to achieving more project success, enhanced customer satisfaction, and therefore higher margins.

Targeting global leadership

In the coming years, VOGSY plans to expand its suite of AI-driven features for project management, such as project risk prediction and budget forecasting. This future development will leverage advanced Google Cloud AI tools, including Vertex AI, Gemini, and the Agent Development Kit (ADK). Furthermore, VOGSY aims to secure the ISO 42001 certification that governs responsible enterprise AI — an Enterprise AI offering jointly brought to market. The team underlines its commitment to implementing AI responsibly and safely. VOGSY will continue to deepen its use of Google Cloud solutions — adopting new Google Cloud tools only if they help customers succeed, which remains its primary innovation principle.

Ultimately, the VOGSY team believes Google Cloud's capacity for innovation will allow them to secure their position as the leading PSA solution for project-based firms globally. The next steps? "We aspire to become a global leader, empowered by the full potential of Google Cloud," affirms Mark van Leeuwen.

VOGSY, co-founded by Leo Koster and Mark van Leeuwen, is a competitive scale-up based in Amsterdam with an office in Boston and customers across every continent. The company serves clients like the ERP vendor, iptor.com (approx. 400 people in 14 countries), viewing this peer endorsement as an extra quality accolade for its software. VOGSY delivers the first cloud-based ERP solution entirely built on Google Cloud. VOGSY's platform supports service firms — particularly in technology, marketing, consulting, and advisory sectors — in expanding globally with ease by managing the entire "lead-to-cash" cycle for internationally operating, project-based businesses.

The company's mission is to turn leading-edge technology into accessible, high-value tools that help organizations achieve greater project success, customer satisfaction, and higher margins. The team currently consists of 16 employees and serves about 60 clients worldwide.
