The new way to power secure autonomous
AI operations in space

The fact we use Google Cloud, which meets all the metrics required by our enterprise customers, makes them comfortable working with us. And with AI becoming the brain or center of organizations, the availability and scalability of the underlying infrastructure is going to be core to their effective deployment.

Co-founder, Space Armour

Space is the newest frontier of human and technological advancement, and AI is at the heart of developments. Delivering autonomous AI systems purpose-built for orbital environments is the mission of Space Armour, a Space Tech start-up headquartered in Singapore.

Its core platform is an integrated system built for deployment on NVIDIA Jetson, enabling edge-based AI use cases in space—combining an AI engine, a blockchain node to cryptographically record AI inferences, and a security gateway to protect both internal and third-party systems. Space Armour plans to test its platform on the ground before in-orbit validation and deployment on space stations through commercial agreements with operators.

The start-up is also integrating its AI engine with Google's Agent Payment Protocol (AP2) and the X402 extension to enable autonomous agentic payments, both in space and on the ground.

By hosting its solution on Google Cloud, the start-up gains the flexibility to support a broad range of use cases with ease. This includes deploying Gemini, Gemma, and other large language models tailored to specific needs; enabling model fine-tuning for customized performance; leveraging an MCP-powered Agentic RAG blueprint; and provisioning virtual machines with the optimal configuration of Cloud GPUs.

The simplicity, ease of integration, and effectiveness of Google Cloud infrastructure enabled Space Armour to build its platform in about eight weeks. "We are very happy we were able to do it this quickly, and we have near-100% uptime – that's what we've come to expect from Google Cloud," says Floyd DCosta, Co-founder, Space Armour.

In response to growing demand from prospective clients, Space Armour has made the AI Engine available to ground-based organizations through the Google Cloud Marketplace. Running on infrastructure with the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) at its heart, Space Armour can deploy the base AI engine in under four weeks to meet customer requirements. "The fact we use Google Cloud, which meets the metrics required by our enterprise customers, makes them comfortable working with us," says DCosta. "And with AI becoming the brain or center of organizations, availability and scalability of the underlying infrastructure is going to be core to their effective deployment."

"With Google Cloud, we do not need any bolt-ons; everything runs in a single, integrated environment," he concludes.

Why Google Cloud

As an existing user of Google Workspace, the seamless integration of its productivity and collaboration applications with the Google Cloud AI and infrastructure services helped Space Armour identify Google Cloud as the best fit for its requirements.

In addition, with access to Google Cloud compute, storage, and flexible, high-performance processing power, Space Armour is not shackled by the limitations of a specific, predefined GPU and virtual machine combination.

"We needed to define our virtual machines and attach an appropriate Cloud GPU or multiple Cloud GPUs to meet specific requirements of individual customers and ourselves," says DCosta.

With its flexible infrastructure and scalable architecture, Google Cloud was most adaptive to the modular approach of our platform and Agentic protocol requirements.

Listing on the Google Cloud Marketplace further empowers Space Armour to seamlessly deliver its AI Engine to Google Cloud customers with a simple 'lift and shift' deployment that minimizes disruption and accelerates time to value. "We can provision turnkey instances of our platform, delivering enterprise-grade private AI within their own cloud environments—giving them full control over both their data and AI operations," says DCosta.

With Google Cloud, Space Armour is extending the frontier of AI—bringing intelligent systems to space and enterprise domains to further human development.

Space Armour is a SpaceTech venture pioneering secure autonomous AI operations in orbit. Its core platform integrates an AI engine, a blockchain node, and a security gateway to deliver intelligent, secure systems purpose-built for in-orbit deployment.
