Enables functional dApp development from concept to launch in 15 minutes with Gemini models in Vertex AI
Full availability blockchain operations on Google Cloud during market disruptions
Eliminates manual pre-processing of support logs with Gemini 2.5 Pro
Sonic Labs uses Google Cloud for reliability and data analytics, improving AI devX with Gemini models in Vertex AI to enable its app builder, Spawn.

For developers of real-time applications such as GameFi and DeFi, uptime is non-negotiable in the crypto industry. Sonic Labs addresses this fundamental need by positioning itself as one of the fastest and cheapest EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machines) in the industry, achieving 400,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-second finality. Sonic Labs runs its critical, high-performance services on Google Cloud to provide users with uncompromising reliability. Even during severe, sentiment-driven market disruptions that took competitors offline, Sonic Labs delivered flawless operation and a seamless user experience.
However, in a competitive landscape, it’s not enough for a blockchain to be “fast and cheap,” according to Seg Rashid, Head of AI and Developer Relations at Sonic Labs. The company recognized that to sustainably attract Web3 developers, it needed to shift its focus to simplifying development with AI resources.
To enable this pivot to AI-driven developer tooling, Sonic Labs first established a robust foundation. It worked with BCW Group to plan and execute a smooth migration of its core workloads to Google Cloud. This essential project included designing the architecture, setting up the infrastructure, and building custom integrations tailored to its business needs.
Currently, Sonic Labs is working on the launch of Spawn, an advanced no-code/low-code app builder designed to eliminate technical complexities, fueling the rapid development of efficient, high-performance dApps. This tool leverages an intent-based flow, with Gemini models woven into its core functionality to automate complex, time-consuming steps in the development lifecycle, including code generation, real-time debugging, and smart contract deployment.
Our long-standing use of Google Cloud solutions across our entire infrastructure has provided an incredibly solid and reliable base for this next crucial phase of innovation. Specifically, Gemini models are game-changing, key components woven into the core functionality of our AI builder, Spawn, to expand our developer ecosystem.

Developers are the engine driving Sonic Labs’ economic activity. Spawn empowers them to build and launch full-stack Web3 apps, no coding required, simply by describing their entire application idea in natural language. The system then automates the entire process, from building and testing to deployment, allowing developers to launch a fully functional dApp in 15 minutes instead of months. This AI-driven workflow manages a variable number of smart contracts and dependencies, requiring developer interaction only about three times from initial concept to launch.

Before adopting cloud solutions, system scalability and limited flexibility were major bottlenecks. By leveraging a mix of Google Cloud solutions, we've entirely streamlined our workflows, allowing teams to focus entirely on core objectives instead of managing infrastructure.

Furthermore, the Spawn AI app builder improves security by integrating a security review process directly into the workflow before deployment, checking generated smart contracts for exploits and faulty code.
The same AI principles power internal workflow orchestration. The team uses Gemini 2.5 Pro to process unstructured tech support logs and other submissions. The large context window of Gemini models drastically reduces engineering time by eliminating the need to build complex data pre-processors. It then employs its structured output feature to instantly transform the raw data into nicely formatted, actionable tech support tickets, saving time for support staff and streamlining information handover.
To support this explosion in developer activity and the resulting transaction volume, Sonic Labs invested heavily in its operational backbone.
A typical high-performance blockchain processes terabytes of data, consisting of millions of user accounts and transactions, which must be tracked for ecosystem monitoring, fee distribution accuracy, and developer analytics. Sonic Labs views the rapid growth of its database as an ongoing engineering problem to be solved internally, rather than burdening users with high gas prices to speed up transactions.
To manage this data stream, Sonic Labs built a robust, cloud-native data pipeline on Google Cloud for analysis. The architecture uses Google Kubernetes Engine for orchestration, Cloud Pub/Sub for scale ingestion, Dataflow for transformation, and BigQuery as its enterprise data warehouse.
All infrastructure is managed via Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for repeatability, and the team automates daily quality-control checks using Cloud Composer, freeing up the team from manual oversight.
This commitment to operational excellence is the foundation for Sonic Labs' next great leap. Its future-proofing strategy hinges on continuous innovation and immediate adoption of advanced AI and cloud tools, maintaining a decisive edge in the market.
We are fully satisfied with our current foundation on Google Cloud but are committed to a sustained partnership. Sonic Labs will be constantly exploring emerging AI and cloud products on Google Cloud to secure an unbeatable competitive edge in performance and developer experience.

Building on the success of Gemini 2.5 Pro, Sonic Labs plans to immediately integrate Gemini 3 enhanced capabilities to hyper-automate and optimize complex internal workflows. The company is also exploring the Security Command Center to strengthen dApp security with broader, deeper analysis integrated directly in Spawn.
Just as important for Sonic Labs is to anchor its technological leap in responsible governance, establishing clear policies and upskilling its workforce to be AI-fluent. This focus builds business resilience and mitigates operational risk. Ultimately, Sonic Labs isn't just a "fast and cheap" EVM, it's the AI-augmented, developer-friendly ecosystem defining the future of real-time DeFi and GameFi.
Sonic Labs is one of the fastest EVM blockchains, attracting developers with robust features and a fee-sharing model to drive dApp adoption.
