Attributed 36.2% of overall revenue to Google Cloud AI services
Improved AI response speeds, measured in tokens per second, by 80%
Grew customer base by 50.4% year-on-year since introducing a new Gemini-powered document extraction system
Increased user base by 66.1% since the introduction of AI-powered features
With Gemini and Google Cloud, Parseur has grown its customer base by over 50% and increased AI response speeds, measured in tokens per second, by 80%.
As a lean startup , Parseur opted to start operations using a low-cost traditional hosting service. However, as the business grew, the cost and resources needed to manage and scale its infrastructure prompted its founders to conduct a review. Having explored the opportunities presented by AI and evaluated multiple providers, Parseur identified Google Cloud as the best for AI services and strategies. After initially working with Document AI for its accurate OCR, the business added Gemini 1.5 Flash to extract data from emails and PDFs, which is the core of its software and value proposition.
The primary motivation for our move to Gemini was the long context window of up to 1 million tokens, as our system must be able to handle large volumes of data.
Sylvain Josserand
Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Parseur
Parseur initially experimented with a high-profile generative AI solution to augment the functionality of its platform. However, this solution was limited in the volume of data it could process each time it was used. This forced users to restrict data extraction to two- or three-page documents or undertake the cumbersome process of breaking large documents down into digestible chunks. For Parseur, this limited the available use cases of its platform and restricted its revenue potential.
With Gemini 1.5 Flash featuring a 1 million token context window, Parseur can now support use cases such as data extraction from annual bank statements running into thousands of pages, enabling clients to properly leverage their accounting software to deliver the insights and reporting required to support decision-making.
Parseur remains a small business with four team members managing a platform that supports more than 50,000 users processing over 2 million documents a month, making cost management a key priority. With Compute Engine delivering the virtual machines supporting its applications, databases, and staging, and Cloud Storage storing documents and large binary data from users, the organization is complementing its use of Document AI and Gemini 1.5 Flash with a scalable, cost-efficient, and reliable cloud infrastructure. The business plans to move to C3D range servers to achieve a 30% increase in performance at an equivalent core count.
Founded in 2016, Parseur is a leading AI document processing software to automate data extraction from documents. Parseur's philosophy is to cover a wide range of data extraction scenarios while retaining a simple point and click setup, using an automated intelligent document processing platform that serves thousands of businesses throughout the world and reliably extracts data from tens of thousands of documents per day.
