iBantu modernizes Islamic social finance with Google Cloud, AI and blockchain

Google Cloud Results

With Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and Google AI, iBantu is using an integrated cloud ecosystem combined with the blockchain to provide Islamic social finance services to customers in Southeast Asia.

The new way to balance wealth with Islamic social finance

Fintech startup iBantu is using cloud, blockchain, and AI to modernize Islamic social finance—faith-based charitable giving, endowments, and interest-free lending tools designed to promote fairness and social good. The platform runs on a blockchain core banking system that manages donations transparently and uses smart contracts to administer different funding instruments.

To connect businesses with Islamic social funding, the iBantu team needs to collaborate efficiently, respond quickly to clients, and use data to refine operations and report clearly to stakeholders.

iBantu chose Google Cloud to integrate data, AI, and collaboration tools with its blockchain platform—helping provide greater transparency, insights, and accountability to the communities it serves.

With Google Workspace plus Google Cloud plus Gemini, we have a three-in-one unified ecosystem powering our business.

Internally, iBantu uses Google Workspace to seamlessly create, share, and update slides and documents, and discuss amendments on Google Meet as needed. The integration of Gemini into the collaboration suite means team members can access summary points immediately after meetings rather than wait two or three days, accelerating collaboration and decision-making.

As a cloud-based solution, Google Workspace enables iBantu team members to work remotely across multiple devices, and to save changes to documents, spreadsheets, and presentations centrally rather than create multiple versions, minimizing version control issues and supporting effective collaboration.

“With Google Workspace plus Google Cloud plus Gemini, we have a three-in-one unified ecosystem powering our business,” says Damar Osman, Chief Executive Officer, iBantu.

Why Google Cloud

Using Google Cloud to power its Islamic social finance business, iBantu is building confidence and capability to win new clients and launch new services across Southeast Asia.

For example, the visibility and simplicity of Google Cloud pricing empowers the organization to be transparent to its clients about the cost and utilization of cloud services and work with them to manage anticipated changes, forging ongoing relationships based on trust rather than the traditional supplier-customer model.

We use the Gemini LLM for research, to generate proposals, and to gain business insights. The model acts as a Swiss Army Knife to streamline and elevate our daily business activity.

Security features that minimize risk and provide centralized identity and control also assure customers. With Cloud Identity, iBantu can seamlessly manage access to Google Cloud resources, while Cloud VPN provides secure, reliable connections between networks, and Cloud Run enables the organization to build applications and services for individual clients directly on Google Cloud, rather than build and manage its own infrastructure. “This allows us to scale and confidently undertake business-to-government projects without incurring excessive costs,” says Osman.

On the data side, the business uses BigQuery and Looker to collect, analyze, and display data about funds utilization, dispersal, and approvals. iBantu also uses AI models on Vertex AI to create compelling, predictive stories for clients, with immediate access to summary points about forecast collections around key events such as Ramadan, empowering management and operations teams to fine-tune processes as needed.

Internally, iBantu relies on Gemini 3 Pro to identify fixes, source workflow suggestions and prepare important materials. “We use the Gemini LLM for research, to generate proposals, and to gain business insights,” explains Osman. “The model acts as a Swiss Army Knife to streamline and elevate our daily business activity.”

“With Google Cloud, Gemini, and the blockchain, we can build out a new business as a technology enablement partner for Islamic organizations, nonprofits, and large corporations looking to implement corporate social responsibility programs,” he concludes. “Using Google Cloud with Gemini, we can dissect how to build the required frameworks and platforms in a cost-efficient, safe, and fast way.”

Operating in Singapore and Indonesia, iBantu provides fintech solutions that combine blockchain, cloud, and AI technologies to give users equitable access to a range of Islamic social finance instruments.
