Improves STEM learning at 100 schools in Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, and Spain with Gemini 2.5 Flash
Reduces overall latency by 50% with Google Cloud
Grows its customer base by 100% with AI features and functionality with Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana
With Google Cloud, Google AI and ARCore, GraphicsMiner Lab makes learning STEM subjects easy and intuitive for children.

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) can be dry topics for children to learn through traditional education methods. But Vietnam-based startup GraphicsMiner Lab aims to stimulate interest in STEM through a novel alternative: a build-it-yourself cardboard robot combined with an AI- and AR-powered mobile application. This robot kit, made from recycled cardboard, is known as the SCABO toy, and it enables educational conversations and 3D simulations of the solar system, the human heart, and other STEM-related subjects.
GraphicsMiner Lab uses Google ARCore to enable AR development, including an inventory system that gives students and teachers the ability to create augmented reality clips. Gemini 2.5 Flash API provides concise, accurate responses to STEM questions. Meanwhile, the organization uses the Nano Banana image generation and editing tool integrated with Gemini to create 2D images for the 3D simulation development process.
On the infrastructure side, Google Kubernetes Engine manages and automates the application’s back-end microservices, reducing operational overhead. Cloud Storage provides a repository for 3D models and other user-generated content, and Cloud CDN enables the rapid delivery of assets to a global user base.
With Google Cloud, we have realized our vision of exporting innovative products to developed countries like Korea and Spain, achieving milestones we initially thought would take two to three years in just eight months.

With Google Cloud, GraphicsMiner Lab has moved away from reliance on an expensive, high-latency and inflexible third-party API model to a unified development environment across AI, applications, and on-device AR.
Our core strategic goal is to transition from a company that sells a hardware product into one that operates a scalable, global edutainment platform. Using Google Cloud to adopt a comprehensive cloud infrastructure is an essential step towards this transformation.

Its CI/CD process enables its small team to deploy new models, services, and features in hours, rather than the days needed in its previous environment.
Google Cloud’s expertise in AI and machine learning, and the ease of building and scaling a custom, cost-effective AI solution with Vertex AI have enabled GraphicsMiner Lab to grow its customer base by 100%. Through Google Cloud Infrastructure as code, the organization’s research and deployment teams can work together seamlessly and deploy models instantly to customers in different countries. The organization now serves nearly 100 schools and 73,000 students in Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, and Spain. GraphicsMiner Lab is able to provide long-term benefits and support to teachers and students, empowering them to explore more and expand their horizons as they learn.

Headquartered in Vietnam, GraphicsMiner Lab provides cardboard DIY tools that integrate AI and AR technologies to encourage children to learn. The business has eight team members and serves customers in Vietnam, Spain, Korea, and Thailand. GraphicsMiner Lab developed SCABO, an eco-friendly DIY robot toolkit and has been featured in local and international exhibitions, including ACM SIGGRAPH.
