In-depth market analyses thanks to Vertex AI models
Analyze unstructured data for enhanced market insights and investment advice by implementing Google AI solutions
Prompt responses up to 10 times faster than some competitor solutions
Entis recently integrated Google Cloud Vertex AI and the PaLM 2 language model into its platform to improve the analysis of unstructured financial data, thus strengthening its ability to offer in-depth market analysis to its client investors.
The strength of the Entis platform lies predominantly in its ability to combine purely financial analysis (figures) with studies of texts, such as annual reports, websites, patent applications, and other content published online. "Thanks to human expertise coupled with AI, we can dissect documents that often contain precious information overlooked by investors. The information gathered in this way is often very relevant: it allows our clients to better understand a company's circumstances, its strategy, its opportunities, or the challenges it risks facing. Using that information, we provide our clients with a comprehensive market perspective on thousands of companies, enhancing their investment decision-making process to improve overall risk and return performance," states Inge Huijsmans, Data Scientist at Entis.
In effect, the platform implemented by Entis excels both in relevance and in the speed in which it extracts that information from complex text data.
The company is able to quickly supply its clients in asset management with scores and company evaluations that would take human experts years to gather. "Our goal is to take advantage of our ability to analyze all information likely to shed light on a company's performance, enabling our clients to excel in a very competitive market. In fact, Entis is the partner of choice for asset managers who make enlightened, reliable, and impactful investment decisions," Inge Huijsmans believes.
To maintain its market leadership, Entis employs a continuous improvement strategy, swiftly integrating the latest advancements in analytics and AI. This approach ensures that clients receive the most relevant and timely information for decision-making.
Reflecting its commitment to continuous innovation, Entis recently extended its AI platform by integrating Google Cloud Vertex AI and deploying PaLM2, an advanced language model to enhance its unstructured data analysis capabilities. For this project, Entis partnered with Xebia, a renowned Google Cloud Partner, ensuring expert support and implementation.
Inge Huijsmans was impressed by the simplicity and integration ease of Google Cloud solutions, particularly Vertex AI. "Google Cloud not only simplifies our operations, but also offers competitive pricing," she stated.
"During our evaluations, the PaLM Embedding service stood out for its user-friendliness compared to its main competitors, setting a new standard for ease of use." This assessment underscores the ongoing evaluation and cost-effectiveness of AI services.
The embedding service is a cornerstone of AI applications at Entis, transforming unstructured data—like text, images, and sounds—into structured numeric vectors. This process, known as vectorization, moves beyond mere keywords to analyze content based on deeper concepts, such as semantics and context. Consequently, it allows for more accurate comparisons, where two texts may share no common keywords yet discuss closely related topics.
Inge Huijsmans also highlights the efficiency of PaLM noting: "Responses are significantly quicker with PaLM compared to other LLMs, which is crucial since the utility for our business applications, where we daily process thousands of text documents, not only depends on the relevance of responses but also on how fast the AI processes our requests."
In this initial deployment, Entis utilized Vertex AI to fine-tune PaLM to suit its needs—in other words, customize the PaLM text-bison-based LLM. Additionally, the team employed Google Cloud's Document AI to enhance document analysis capabilities.
In conclusion, Entis continues to enhance its capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing. This commitment is a strategic decision to deepen their investments in technologies that deliver the most relevant insights for their clients. The integration of Google Cloud's AI technologies is a first step for Entis to explore what Google can offer.
