Believe migrated to Google Cloud to support its business growth and optimize costs. As a part of its ongoing transformation of its employee's digital experience, the group also made the decision to migrate to Google Workspace in 2026.

A fast-growing and evolving business

Believe is a global artist development company and one of the global leaders in digital music. Operating in 50+ countries, with more than 2,000 employees, Believe offers a full range of services, including audience development, publishing, marketing and distribution, with a tailor-made approach to fit any artist, label, or publisher.

Believe's ambition is to be recognized as the best company at developing independent local artists, labels, and publishers around the world as well as the go to choice for music entrepreneurs. To support this ambition Believe has undergone an internal transformation, shifting operational focus toward artist development and expanding into publishing with Believe Music Publishing. Believe now operates as a fully integrated artist development company working in synergy across the different business units to support artists, labels, and publishers at all stages of their careers. As CEO and Co-Founder Denis Ladegaillerie recently outlined "We're in a new era for Believe!"

To support this ongoing transformation, improve efficiency, and optimize costs, Believe has undertaken a complete migration to Google Cloud.

A strategic, three-step migration

In 2022, Believe concluded that its legacy data centers were oversized and too costly. Following a call for tenders, a partnership was formed with Google Cloud. The idea was to start with a blank slate, breaking down the monoliths, and completely redesigning the technical stack to build a new, centralized system.

The cloud migration program was launched in January 2024. Accompanied by a Google integrator, the teams laid the cloud foundations. The migration to Google Cloud took place in three phases. The initial migration involved moving Believe's on-premises systems — applications, data, and services — to Google Cloud. This was followed by the gradual migration of its systems hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services) to Google Cloud. Finally, the "all-in" migration was launched. This final phase finalized the transition by consolidating all of its activities and infrastructure into a single, centralized cloud environment.

"Moving to Google Cloud was a true clean slate that allowed us to rebuild a more efficient and faster system," explains Mona Roiff, VP at the CTO Office. The migration was accompanied by numerous transformations, including the introduction of a new coding language within Believe (Java), in addition to the existing one (PHP). This deep technological transformation also led to a redesign of the group's work methods. "The move to Google Cloud truly transformed our vision of tech," adds Mona Roiff. "Our CTO even wrote the manifesto for our new work method."

A valued strategic partnership

Believe considers the cloud migration a complete success. "We were supported with flexibility, kindness, and professionalism," emphasizes Mona Roiff. "We really see the difference; we now work much more efficiently and much faster."

Relying on a single provider generated significant economies of scale and productivity gains for Believe. Another benefit is that the group, which was already working closely with YouTube, saw its relationships strengthened, particularly through the simplification of data transfers.

Next step: Adopting Google Workspace

Building on the success of the Google Cloud migration, Believe decided to go further and plan for the adoption of Google Workspace, Google's collaborative solution. The move to Google Workspace was not part of the initial scope but emerged as a natural evolution for the teams. Scheduled for Q1 2026, this new step will allow all employees to benefit from integrated communication and collaboration tools — a highly anticipated advancement internally.
