Beep Saúde was born with a clear proposition: deliver high-quality medical services (vaccinations, exams, and health procedures) entirely in people’s homes. From day one, the company positioned itself as a digital-native, logistics-driven operation, with a customer promise that blends medical reliability with ecommerce-like convenience. The model offers patients the ability to schedule precise appointment windows through a mobile app, with nurses arriving on time, in uniform, and prepared for the specific service requested.

But what makes the experience seamless for patients depends on an intensely complex operation behind the scenes. According to COO Gustavo Mariozzi, “We’re a company that scales based on logistics. Our biggest bottleneck isn’t demand, it’s making the operation more productive without compromising the level of service.”

The logistical burden is unlike traditional healthcare. Appointments happen in individual homes, not clinics. Routes must be optimized down to the minute — considering distance, service time, and traffic conditions — while maintaining high Net Promoter Scores. Every delay is visible to the end user, and can impact trust. As Beep expanded across Brazil, the company needed a way to maintain its standard of care while optimizing for volume, geography, and growing operational complexity. Scaling personalized logistics without compromise

As Beep’s operations scaled, the limitations of its routing process became evident. Previously, routing was handled through an external tool that wasn’t integrated with Beep’s internal platform. “At the time, we had a tool completely separate from our platform. Someone had to use that tool to generate the routes. The integration happened through file exchange,” says Luiz Costa, CTO of Beep Saúde. Each day, a file with the routes had to be exported from the routing tool and manually uploaded to Beep’s platform, which created risks of data loss or manual errors.

Before, we had to export route files manually and upload them into our system. With Google Maps, routing is now fully integrated into our internal platform, and we’ve gained much more control over how routes are optimized.

This setup was tolerable when scheduling volume was low and logistics demands were simpler. But as Beep grew and sought to maximize the efficiency of its home visits, it needed to reduce travel time and prioritize certain appointments. Legacy tools couldn’t account for these business-specific constraints. “When we needed to reduce displacement time to make sure technicians spent most of their time delivering care, not commuting, the limitations of those tools became clear,” Costa adds.

The challenge wasn’t just about efficiency, it was about maintaining the company’s value proposition. Beep offers patients tight service windows and expects punctuality from its clinical staff.

Any delay, error, or rigidity in routing had a direct impact on customer satisfaction. As Beep expanded into new cities with different traffic patterns, distances, and demand curves, its static routing system became a growing liability.

The team needed a way to bring routing intelligence into their own infrastructure. That meant full control over time windows, location input, route configurations, and constraints like shift schedules, time at each stop, and the nature of each procedure. Relying on a generic system no longer fit the business. The next step was integrating geographic intelligence directly into Beep’s logistics brain.

Custom routing with Google Maps Platform at the core

To meet its operational demands at scale, Beep integrated Google Maps Platform Route Optimization directly into its internal system, Oswaldo, a proprietary logistics engine that centralizes planning, routing, and dispatch. Unlike the external tools used previously, Route Optimization offered the API-level control the team needed to build a deeply customized experience inside their own platform. 

The shift unlocked more than convenience. With Route Optimization, Beep gained the ability to run daily route optimization using dynamic data, real-time traffic, precise location inputs, and accurate time estimates. This level of detail enabled them to build smarter routes that account for how long each service takes, how far each nurse travels, and which constraints matter most for each region.

In partnership with Geoambiente, a Google Cloud partner, Beep engineered a custom Google Maps Platform integration tailored to its unique operational needs. This collaboration resulted in a single, powerful platform that unifies logistics adjustments with the tracking of staff, patients, and KPIs.

The shift that let Beep do 30% more with less

With Route Optimization embedded into Oswaldo, Beep quickly began to see measurable improvements. Route planning became faster and more precise, and the company was able to increase its visit volume without hiring more staff. “We’ve gained between 20 to 30% more productivity, depending on the city,” says Mariozzi. That translates to more home visits per day, better coverage in each shift, and greater efficiency in resource allocation across regions.

The optimization also reduced downtime between appointments. Before the integration, gaps in the schedule were harder to detect and fix. Now, with clear visibility into real-time routing and nurse availability, Beep can reassign visits more intelligently throughout the day. This agility allows the company to better serve patients who book last-minute appointments or require rescheduling, all without compromising punctuality.

Most importantly, the improvements haven’t come at the cost of service quality. On-time performance has remained high, and NPS scores continue to reflect strong satisfaction. The team’s next milestone is to quintuply that, reaching 250,000 visits per month while maintaining its hallmark punctuality and patient satisfaction.
