Cloud Storage multi-region data transfer fees will apply to BigQuery requests

Beginning February 1, 2026, BigQuery users will start seeing charges for Cloud Storage multi-region data transfer, as per storage pricing documentation.

Multi-region network data transfer fees will be charged when a BigQuery job in one location reads data stored in a multi-region Cloud Storage bucket. These charges are covered by following SKUs:

This change will be particularly impactful for users who import data into the BigQuery from multi-region Cloud Storage buckets.
