Agents for Impact

Build agents that make a real-world difference for your chance to win and present at Google Cloud Next ‘27. This multi-phase program is designed to carry your code from a local laptop to real social impact.

Phase I: Live Hackathons [October-December 2026]- An in-person, one-day hackathon-style sprint in select cities. Teams will build and deploy AI agents utilizing datasets to address real-world challenges. 

Phase II: Digital AI Arena [January 2027]- A digital "Shark Tank"-style showdown where finalist teams will pitch their agentic solutions and viewers will vote for their favorite agentic solution. 

Phase III: Digital Hackathon [January-March 2027]- Individuals will submit their agentic AI solutions for social impact on a rolling basis with cash prizes.

Phase I: Live Hackathons [October-December 2026]

This is not your standard tech event, it’s a mission. Attendees will work in teams and leverage Google’s latest agentic AI toolset to build a solution addressing some of society’s biggest challenges such as food equity, public health, and emergency evacuation. 

What you can expect: 

  • Dive into Google’s Latest Agentic AI and Data Tools: Dive straight into 4+ hours of hands-on hacking with Google’s newest agentic developer stack—including Antigravity, ADK v2, Gemini models, and BigQuery. You’ll be assisted by Google subject-matter experts, empowering you to work quickly and effectively.
  • Tackle Real-World Problems: Move beyond abstract examples. Work with vast, open datasets to build a proof-of-concept aimed at solving real challenges.
  • Build Your Portfolio: Create a meaningful project that not only demonstrates your commitment to positive change but serves as a showcase of your AI and data skills. You’ll be awarded a Credly badge at the end of the event, so you can showcase your achievements to your network.
  • Connect with a Purpose-Driven Network: Collaborate with your peers and Google experts as everyone works toward a single goal: building a better future. 
  • Competitive edge: One winning team from each event will advance to the Phase II AI Arena where their solution will be presented to a live digital audience of 5,000+ peers, who will vote to send one team to present on stage at Google Cloud Next '27!

Note: Attendees should bring their own personal laptop, which is preferred over a corporate issued device. 

Phase II: Digital AI Arena [January 2027]

The future of AI is agentic. See it built, battle-tested, and voted on by you. Watch four teams demo their cutting-edge agentic AI solutions for social impact and cast your live vote to decide who will go to Next ‘27 and present their solution on stage. 

What you can expect: 

  • Built for Everyone: No matter your technical level, we guarantee you’ll walk away with new agentic AI and data insights from the four teams demoing their live agents. You can expect real terminal outputs and live-working demos. 
  • Unlock Hands-On Labs: Every viewer gets free, on-demand access to hands-on labs to leverage the same agentic AI and data tools used by the finalist teams.
  • Free Learning Credits: Get 35 free credits every month to upskill in on Google skills.
  • Launch Your Own Solution: Use the virtual showdown as your inspirational starting point. You’ll have the chance to submit your own agentic solution for social impact in our Phase III Digital Hackathon.

Phase III: Digital Hackathon [January-March 2027]

What you can expect: 

Build at your own pace. Join this fully digital hackathon where you will submit your solution online for a chance to win cash prizes and your own spot on stage at Next ‘27! 

  • Dive into Google’s Latest AI and Data Tools: Leverage tools like Agent Development Kit to build and design an agent for social impact. 
  • Explore the Possibilities:  Gain access to helpful resources, a discussion board and other projects submitted by builders from around the world.
