Google Cloud Results
  • Enabled scaling up of production services, with one product running on Media CDN and Virtual Machines (VMs) scaling by almost 30X

  • The combination of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Virtual Machines (VMs), Cloud Storage, and Cross Cloud Interconnect enabled the successful migration of over 600 microservices and 100M monthly active users with no major hiccups, downtimes, or data loss

  • Delivered 20% cost savings, enabling more efficient resource allocation for growth

  • Adoption of Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) led to reviewed and documented changes to production, meeting Airtel's compliance requirements

Xstream migrated to Google Cloud to support rapid business growth and deliver scalable content, leveraging Google Cloud's capabilities for smooth, high-performance content delivery. This was achieved through a focus on scalability and strong collaboration across multiple teams.

The new way to level up content access and delivery

Xstream's rapid growth to 100M monthly users on its content streaming platform presented significant scalability challenges, as their existing cloud infrastructure struggled to keep pace. The incremental costs associated with their legacy setup further hindered efficient scaling and business expansion.

Google Cloud emerged as the solution to these issues, providing the necessary foundation to support Xstream's accelerating business growth and enable massive scale for its content delivery platform.

Why Google Cloud?

Google Cloud enabled Xstream to support its rapid growth and ensure business continuity by providing the scalable foundation needed to handle 100M monthly active users and expanding production services. The platform also delivered cost savings as high as 20%, allowing for more efficient resource allocation to fuel further business expansion.

Furthermore, Google Cloud offered contract flexibility with no Minimum Guarantee (MG) requirements on each component, which is crucial for dynamic growth. The Google Cloud Professional Services Organization (PSO) team provided significant hands-on support, which was critical for a successful transition and continued expansion.

Google Cloud delivered the scalability and flexibility essential for our business growth, alongside better contract terms, and cost savings, addressing all the challenges and complexities we faced with our earlier cloud services provider.
