A major player in mobile gaming, TapNation has leveraged the Google Cloud ecosystem to establish artificial intelligence as the backbone of its new operating model.

From automation to the AI-augmented enterprise

Since its creation in 2019, TapNation has emerged as one of the most dynamic players in mobile gaming. With more than 1.5 billion cumulative downloads, the company built its success on a culture of data, experimentation, and continuous optimization. In a highly competitive market where dozens of players vie for the same trends and audiences, speed of execution has become a major differentiator. "Spotting a concept before anyone else, launching it quickly to market, attracting players, and then optimizing the game's performance can mean the difference between a global hit and a missed opportunity. As soon as we realized that AI could help us analyze, develop, and produce faster, we decided to make it a strategic pillar," explains Kamel Haddad, Head of Engineering at the company.

Unlike traditional studios that sometimes spend several years developing a single title, TapNation operates in the mass-market mobile gaming space, where development cycles are measured in weeks. Teams must quickly identify emerging trends, test new concepts on the fly with players, and continuously adapt their strategy based on the results.

To maintain this rapid pace while preserving its agility, the company automated its processes early on, from game development and testing to social media trend detection and marketing campaign management. "Automation was already part of our DNA," confirms Kamel Haddad. "But it was limited to administrative and predefined tasks: gathering data, triggering actions, and so on. As soon as it came to interpreting information, producing content, or factoring in context, human intervention remained essential. AI is a game-changer: for the first time, we can embed reasoning capabilities directly into our workflows and automate not just execution, but part of the thinking and creativity as well."

Like many organizations, TapNation initially deployed AI for targeted use cases like data analysis and document summaries.

However, the company quickly realized that the true revolution lay elsewhere. "For us, AI isn't just another tool stacked on top of existing ones. It is the backbone of a new operating model, capable of supporting all our processes and transforming how we work at every single level," adds Kamel Haddad.

Google Cloud: A complete ecosystem for a pioneering ambition

To turn this ambition into reality, TapNation turned to its long-standing partner, relying on the support of Cloudfresh, a global Google Cloud partner. With an infrastructure already entirely hosted on Google Cloud, the company was drawn to Google’s rapid pace of innovation in AI. Beyond providing access to Google Cloud technologies, Cloudfresh helped the company prioritize high-impact AI use cases, validate architectural decisions, and identify the right combination of models and services for different business scenarios. This allowed TapNation to move quickly from experimentation to production while keeping implementation aligned with business goals.

By combining the reasoning power of Gemini, content generation from Nano Banana, video creation from Veo, and agentic workflow orchestration from Google Antigravity—all managed by Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform—we found the ideal technological foundation to scale our approach.

"The challenge wasn't just adopting an isolated model, but taking ownership of a complete, unified ecosystem," explains Kamel Haddad. "By combining the reasoning power of Gemini, content generation from Nano Banana, video creation from Veo, and agentic workflow orchestration from Google Antigravity—all managed by Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform—we found the ideal technological foundation to scale our approach."

Armed with this technological arsenal, TapNation broke free from traditional approaches. Rather than viewing AI as a simple occasional assistant, the company embedded these blocks directly into its business workflows. This gave rise to an architecture where generative models, agents, and automation scripts work together seamlessly within the same processes, interacting with employees and existing applications.

"Our goal wasn't to create a collection of specialized assistants, but to build complete processing chains capable of analyzing information, understanding context, generating content, or automatically triggering actions," points out Kamel Haddad. "The most effective solutions are often those that combine multiple approaches: traditional automation, agents, generative models, and human expertise. The depth of the Google ecosystem allows us to choose the most relevant—and most cost-efficient—technology at every single step."

This cross-functional transformation bore fruit in just six months. From software development to marketing, as well as HR, finance, and legal, more than twenty AI-powered solutions have been integrated into the processes of nine departments.

Engineering led the way. Using Gemini, teams now generate comprehensive technical specifications from a simple prompt describing a game concept, reducing drafting time by 60%. This automation extends all the way to deployment: thanks to Google Antigravity, developers rely on agents capable of running tests, checking code consistency, and preparing builds for app stores. On certain workflows, time savings reach up to 85%.

Marketing has also hit a major execution milestone. By pairing Google Cloud’s image generation models with the video capabilities of Veo, TapNation produces promotional content in minutes from simple prompts. The studio has tripled its creative production capacity while improving workflow efficiency by 80%, freeing itself from the multi-week production timelines previously required by external agencies.

A new equation for growth

This newfound execution capacity quickly found its footing within the company. The deployed AI solutions have been adopted by 75% of employees—a rate that hits 100% within the engineering teams. At the same time, across all solutions put into production, the company measures an average efficiency rate of 70%, whether evaluating the relevance of generated content, the quality of analysis, or the models' ability to complete assigned tasks.

For Kamel Haddad, these figures primarily validate an intuition held since the project's inception: artificial intelligence is not meant to replace employees, but to allow them to dedicate more time to what truly drives value. "In our industry, speed has always been a competitive advantage. Today, AI allows us to change scale. Models are progressing at an exceptional pace, and new use cases appear every week. This is exactly why we chose to rely on the Google Cloud ecosystem. Its capacity for innovation gives us constant access to the most advanced technologies, while Cloudfresh's guidance helps us quickly identify the most relevant opportunities for our people and our business. These partnerships keep us focused on what really matters: turning technological breakthroughs into concrete value for our operations. And what excites us most is that we are only beginning to glimpse what can be built tomorrow," concludes Kamel Haddad.
