  • Reduced platform delivery time from three months to three weeks

  • Unified data and actions in one interface for faster decisions

  • Enabled technical and business teams to work in real time

  • Reduced costs by eliminating custom platform builds

iEVO Solutions moves from dashboards to decisions and actions with Looker, cutting build time from three months to three weeks.

Facing the gap between data visibility and action

Every client had their own idea of what BI should do. We were trying to fit 10 different realities into one solution. At some point we realized that showing data wasn't enough. People needed to interact with it, not just look.

iEVO Solutions had spent years exploring the business intelligence (BI) market and building custom tools for clients that wanted to see their performance in real time. Yet despite all the dashboards and data models, something was missing. Companies could visualize numbers but not act on them.

"We realized most BI platforms only help you look at the data, not do something with it. Our clients had all the dashboards they could ask for, but they couldn't act from there," says Victor Rosa, chief technology officer at iEVO Solutions. "Having beautiful dashboards is like having a wall of TVs with nothing good to watch. If you can't take action, it doesn't generate value."

Determined to change this, the team built its own BI platform. The goal was to connect information with daily operations. "We built our own platform to get more control, but it was complex to maintain and slow to deploy. Each new client took about three months. We were reinventing the wheel and still couldn't make data move," explains Rosas.

The search for a better answer led them to Looker. "Looker was the first platform that gave us the flexibility and customization we needed. It connected perfectly with our philosophy of making data into action," Rosa adds.

Looker gave iEVO Solutions what they had been trying to build for years: one environment where insight and action coexist. That decision defined the next phase of their work — transforming business intelligence into business execution.

Testing a new architecture built for action

"The decision to adopt Looker came from a new challenge from one of our companies, Vector360. We had very little time to go into production and faced the challenge of processing a large amount of data and creating a visualization that 'wasn't just a BI tool' in an extremely competitive environment like the financial sector in Brazil," explains Victor Rosa.

Once iEVO Solutions decided to adopt Looker, the team began the process of rebuilding its internal BI environment around the platform. The objective was to preserve the level of customization they had in their old system while eliminating the long maintenance cycles that came with it.

When I realized we could programmatically call any API from inside the dashboard, I thought they were lying. It sounded too good to be true, but it was real, and it changed everything.

Implementation started with a proof of concept supported by Google Cloud and IPNET. The test focused on one key question: Could Looker execute real actions directly from dashboards? That capability would determine whether the company could simplify its architecture and still maintain the flexibility its projects required.

"I was very direct in the first meetings," affirms Rosa. "I said, 'I don't want pretty charts. I don't care if it paints or drags. I just need to know that Looker Action works, because we're changing our entire strategy around it.' And they understood."

Before moving forward, IPNET demonstrated a simple Looker Action calling an external API, enough to prove the concept. That confirmation gave iEVO Solutions the confidence to migrate one of its existing BI cases into the new environment. Within three weeks, the new version was live, reproducing all existing functionality inside a much cleaner and faster structure.

"We tested the full Looker Action during that phase, and it worked exactly as expected," says Rosa. "When I realized we could programmatically call any API from inside the dashboard, I thought they were lying. It sounded too good to be true, but it was real, and it changed everything."

The new architecture centralized modeling in LookML, improved control, and allowed the team to reuse structures across projects instead of rebuilding dashboards from scratch. Technical and business teams could finally work from the same environment, reducing friction and improving iteration speed.

Extending one architecture to power multiple brands

Everything we're building now already thinks about the future. We're not making one-off solutions anymore. The architecture we have today will serve several companies in the group, not just one project. Vector was born from this same structure, and it's proof that what we built internally can become a product.

With its new BI environment fully implemented, iEVO Solutions reached a turning point. What began as an internal rebuild evolved into a foundation capable of supporting the company's next generation of businesses. The platform now operates as the core data layer for every new initiative, connecting modeling, automation, and execution in one structure.

The team's immediate plan is to extend this framework across other companies in the group, creating a shared environment that standardizes data and accelerates development. "We're going to use this structure not only here, but in other companies in the group as well," says Rosa. "Everything we're building now is already being designed for that."

At the center of this expansion is Vector, a new company born from the same environment that iEVO Solutions rebuilt. Vector will operate as a standalone brand, using the shared BI foundation to deliver a specialized analytics product for the financial sector.

"It's a financial company that successfully monitors user experience across different banks, achieving a unique benchmarking capability in Brazil," Rosa explains. Among the major challenges was the recurring processing of large volumes of data to provide banks with an innovative solution with high added value. "The platform is already being born 100% on this architecture with embedded analytics."

Vector represents iEVO Solutions' transition from developing BI projects to building full-scale products. The first version of the platform was completed in about three weeks by a small internal team, validating how fast the new structure could support product creation. "It's the product version of what we used to build manually," concludes Rosa. "Now it's faster, lighter, and ready to scale."

In the coming months, iEVO Solutions will continue refining the architecture and extending it across the group's brands, each leveraging the same core data structure. For the company, the rebuild became more than a technical shift; it marked the beginning of a product ecosystem designed to grow, integrate, and move faster than ever before.
