As a data-driven fintech, Finhike must ensure its services remain fast and highly available, even for users with limited internet connectivity. This is especially important for the company’s operations in Ukraine, where it needs to maintain stable connections for clients despite local infrastructure challenges. To meet these demands, Finhike chose to build its platform on Google Cloud.

Delivering secure, high-performance financial services at scale
Building an alternative to traditional banking requires a system that can move as fast as the market. Finhike uses Compute Engine to power its core proprietary risk engine, which analyzes diverse data pools to make real-time lending decisions. By taking a modular, step-by-step approach to deployment, Finhike can enter new markets at speed. The team tests new services using minimal resources, such as a single GPU or a small amount of RAM, to validate the platform in a new country, before scaling up as the local client base grows. This precise configuration allows Finhike to prepare for a full project launch in a new market in as little as one week.

As a fintech operating under licenses from central banks, with strict national regulatory requirements, Finhike places security and trust at the heart of its operations. The company previously used a third-party security provider, but often faced "false positives," accidentally blocking legitimate clients while trying to filter malicious traffic. To resolve this, Finhike migrated to Cloud Armor and reCAPTCHA Enterprise, significantly improving the user experience by precisely filtering traffic without disrupting normal clients.
To maintain compliance, Finhike uses Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring to provide a minute-by-minute status of system health. This visibility allows the team to resolve potential issues in minutes, which is critical for the daily reports they must send to national regulators.
Finhike is also using Google Cloud to improve the efficiency of its internal workflows. The company’s marketing team previously relied on manual reporting that was prone to delays of up to three months. Now, the team uses BigQuery to consolidate data from Google Analytics, allowing it to automatically and accurately track client sources and conversions to ensure they are targeting the right audience.
At the same time, Finhike’s engineering team is increasing efficiency by using Gemini to assist with complex coding and database management. “With Gemini, we can complete engineering tasks 20% faster,” says Livintsev. “It allows us to delegate manual work and focus on building the features that help our clients succeed.”
Redefining the digital banking experience
Looking ahead, Finhike plans to transition its web-based services into feature-rich mobile applications to further enhance the customer journey. The company aims to grow its mobile user base by turning its websites into full apps that offer more functionality and are easier for clients to navigate. Finhike is also exploring how to use AI to make the onboarding and “know your customer” (KYC) process even smoother, aiming to test new ways of identifying clients to create a frictionless experience for the user.
By working with Google Cloud, Finhike has gained the stability to grow and the agility to innovate at speed, while reducing the amount it spends on compute and storage. “With the Google Cloud Console, we have clear visibility of our cloud usage, which allows us to manage our budget effectively. As a result, we’ve reduced our storage and compute costs by 10% year over year,” explains Livintsev.
