Reduced manual report generation from eight hours to a one-click, automated process using LookML
Eliminated the need for a separate Snowflake data lake by connecting Looker directly to multiple data sources
Empowered real estate managers with proactive alerts on critical metrics like canceled bookings and space utilization
Enabled a cloud-agnostic architecture, supporting clients across Google Cloud and Azure ecosystems seamlessly
CXAI standardized its analytics suite on Looker to deliver high-fidelity visualizations and real-time insights, replacing manual reporting workflows with automated, scalable data modeling that drives workplace optimization.
CXAI is an AI-powered employee and workplace experience platform that helps global enterprise employees navigate campuses and book essential resources like desks and meeting rooms, while connecting employees, workplaces, and data in one system. As it grew in size, CXAI faced challenges in how it transformed workplace and application data into consistent, client-ready insights.
The company captures massive datasets across two primary verticals: real estate utilization (how physical space is used) and application usage (how employees interact with the workplace app). Managing this data was a fragmented process. The team relied on a complex pipeline that merged booking logs from Cloud SQL with application metrics. Their existing architecture was not only costly but also labor-intensive; the implementation team often spent eight hours manually generating a single report for a client.
As the company scaled, Manish Vuppugandla, Technical Lead for Analytics and AI, recognized the need for a solution that offered true replicability. The team evaluated several tools, including Tableau and ThoughtSpot, but found them lacking the specific combination of multi-cloud connectivity and deep API integration required for their white-label mobile application. CXAI needed more than a visualization tool; they needed a partner that could act as a server-side data modeling layer.
We realized that our industry is changing, and we need to change with it. That's why we need Google Cloud and Looker, to move beyond manual reporting and establish a cloud-side data modeling layer that scales vertically and horizontally across our entire enterprise client base.

Looker emerged as the clear choice because of LookML, which allowed the team to build a metric once and replicate it across dozens of clients instantly. This selection process wasn't just about software; it was a strategic move to simplify their infrastructure. By choosing Looker, CXAI was able to drop its separate data lake and connect directly to its data sources, creating a leaner, more agile tech stack that could support its vision for an AI-powered workplace assistant.
"CXAI's approach to embedding Looker as a scalable, API-first data layer across their entire client base is a differentiated example of how LookML and the Looker API can deliver real-time insights at enterprise scale. As we continue to bring Gemini capabilities into the Looker ecosystem, partners like CXAI are leading the way in showing how AI can fundamentally transform with Conversational Analytics," says Sean Zinsmeister, Director of Outbound Product Management, Google Data Cloud.

The transition to Looker fundamentally shifted CXAI's approach to data from static, reactive reporting to a proactive, API-first strategy. Today, CXAI utilizes Looker as the "hot path" for its data architecture, serving a dual purpose for both internal teams and external enterprise giants. Internally, the marketing and customer success teams use real-time dashboards to identify high-impact features and validate product-market fit. Externally, the impact is even more visible. By leveraging the Looker API, the engineering team transformed the mobile platform into a vehicle for real-time data delivery. Instead of viewing historical charts, an employee arriving at a corporate campus can see a live heat map or a list of which colleagues are currently in the office, a feature powered by a real-time API call to Looker's modeling layer.
Looker has become its own product within our ecosystem. The RESTful API stack allows us to take a single query and plug it into a mobile app, a web widget, or even an Apple TV, making our analytics truly cloud-agnostic and accessible anywhere our users need it.

One of the most transformative elements of this implementation is the move toward proactive actions using Looker's automated alerting system. Traditionally, real estate managers had to manually check dashboards daily to see if their space was being utilized effectively. Now, they set specific thresholds and receive immediate notifications by Looker Alert in Slack or email when anomalies occur. For example, if a specific office wing sees a 30% spike in booking cancellations, the manager is alerted instantly. This allows them to investigate localized facility issues, such as a broken HVAC system or a Wi-Fi outage, the moment they arise, rather than discovering the problem a week later. This shift from "looking for problems" to "being told about problems" has positioned CXAI as a critical partner in operational excellence, proving ROI to C-suite executives by saving thousands of hours in employee productivity.
Beyond standard visualizations, CXAI has successfully productized its data layer for its most sophisticated clients through a "Clean Room" approach. Many large enterprises possess their own internal data science teams who prefer to work within their own specialized BI tools. For these users, CXAI provides a direct Looker endpoint. This allows the client to consume "clean," pre-modeled data that has already been filtered and standardized by CXAI's LookML logic. It saves the client weeks of data engineering work and ensures that the metrics the client sees in their own internal tools perfectly match the metrics displayed in the CXAI mobile app. This ensures a consistent narrative across the entire organization, from the facility manager on the ground to the CFO in the boardroom.
As CXAI continues to scale, they are focusing on the next frontier: advanced conversational analytics. The team is already developing custom NLP-based features on top of Looker to allow users to ask natural language questions about their workplace data. As Google Cloud continues to integrate Gemini into the Looker ecosystem, CXAI is poised to lead the market in delivering intuitive, AI-driven workplace insights that redefine how the world's largest companies manage their most valuable assets: their people and their space.
