Clear.bio is transforming diabetes management by using Google AI to scale its personalized digital nutritional interventions through automated data prediction workflows, thus replacing inefficient manual processes.

Challenge: Enforcing greater precision at scale

As Clear.bio's impact grew across the Netherlands and expanded into Germany and France, they encountered a critical two-fold challenge that hindered their ability to scale effectively. Firstly, they needed to optimize their market outreach and targeting to healthcare partners. This meant developing a highly accurate predictive model to segment and score potential clients—specifically healthcare practitioners—to ensure their sales and marketing efforts focused only on the most valuable leads. Manually identifying these high-potential partners was a time-consuming and inefficient process. Secondly, they aimed to improve overall efficiency and scalability. Automating their entire data prediction workflow was crucial to replace prior manual processes, thereby reducing operational costs and enabling their solution to expand without being constrained by human intervention. Before Google AI, this entire process was handled manually, limiting their reach and slowing their growth.

The collaborative effort, involving engineering, product, scientific, marketing, and partner management teams, transformed a manual process into an automated, AI-powered system that streamlines how we find and prioritize the right practices. It saves our team time, reduces guesswork, and helps us reach out to the most promising practices more efficiently.

Solution: Empowering operations with Google AI

To turn these challenges into opportunities, Clear.bio embarked on an AI Sprint with Google for Startups, integrating a powerful suite of Google AI tools into their core operations. They strategically leveraged Gemini to identify medical practices that fit their growth strategy, using the model to analyze crucial factors like technology adoption, patient demographics, and treatment patterns. This allowed Clear.bio to pinpoint practices with the highest potential for successful referrals. For the predictive heavy lifting, they used Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform to train and deploy a high-accuracy machine learning model, which makes the final predictions and delivers the 'Best_Class' score. Furthermore, BigQuery served as the robust data warehouse, loading, extracting, and preprocessing the extensive data used for training the AutoML model. To automate the entire pipeline, Google Cloud Run functions were utilized, triggering the process whenever new CSV files were uploaded and managing the end-to-end data flow.

“This collaborative effort, involving engineering, product, scientific, marketing, and partner management teams, transformed a manual process into an automated, AI-powered system that streamlines how we find and prioritize the right practices. It saves our team time, reduces guesswork, and helps us reach out to the most promising practices more efficiently,” explained Clear.bio CTO Parul Vats.

Our main plans are to scale the successful predictive model to more teams, get more clients, and expand to new countries. We are excited that the model has already shown great results over the last six months and is helping us reach our mission faster.

Results: Unprecedented efficiency and exponential growth

The integration of Google AI delivered remarkable and quantifiable success for Clear.bio. Within the first few months, they achieved a significant 30% increase in the conversion rate of high-value healthcare groups interested in partnerships, demonstrating the precision of their new targeting. This meant their sales team could now focus their efforts on the top 20% of practices most likely to generate referrals, leading to an almost 20% reduction in time spent on outreach and far more efficient market expansion in the Netherlands and internationally. The automated data prediction workflow dramatically improved operational scalability by reducing costs and replacing previously manual processes. Furthermore, the AI model itself proved exceptionally reliable, boasting an impressive 92-94% accuracy in its predictions. “Using the AI tool enables me to deliver highly personalised and relevant information to potential new clients. This consistently boosts engagement and significantly increases my chances of closing new contracts," says Gijs van der Spek, Account Manager, Regional Healthcare Organisations.

Beyond supporting business operations, Google AI also helps Clear.bio address the challenge of reversing diabetes. The health startup uses AI to translate continuous glucose data into personalized nutritional insights that help people with Type 2 Diabetes understand how their own bodies respond to food. By combining AI-driven pattern recognition with human dietitian support, patients receive real-time, individualized guidance that is both scalable and empathetic.
