Buying through the marketplace would also let them use their existing Google Cloud commitments instead of drawing on new budgets.
But Alta wasn't on Google Cloud Marketplace yet. To meet this demand, the company had to create its first listing from scratch. A basic listing with a contact form wouldn't be enough. Enterprise buyers expected a fully transactable experience where they could review quotes, sign contracts, and start using the software online.
Building that experience required custom billing workflows and backend integrations with Google Cloud's procurement systems, which is where Premier Cloud stepped in. Developing them in-house would have taken significant engineering time away from the product. Alta needed a faster way to launch a complete marketplace checkout experience for enterprise buyers.

Alta brought in Premier Cloud, a Google Cloud partner with deep expertise in Google Cloud Marketplace, to manage the marketplace setup and relieve pressure off its engineering team.
Premier Cloud built an automated digital checkout counter. It set up the system on Cloud Run, which processes orders automatically in the background without needing manual server work. The system connects directly to Google Partner Procurement APIs, serving as a transaction bridge that enables enterprise buyers to purchase Alta’s SaaS platform using their pre-committed Google Cloud credits.
Cloud SQL safely stores customer order records, while Cloud Pub/Sub sends instant alerts whenever a customer buys, changes, or cancels a plan. For an enterprise buyer, this means getting a price quote, signing an agreement online, and paying with existing cloud funds.
Google Cloud funded the entire project, giving Alta a full Google Cloud Marketplace integration at zero out-of-pocket cost. Premier Cloud secured the funding and handled the full technical execution on Google Cloud Marketplace.

Buyers benefit from that speed too. Enterprise software purchases typically involve months of vendor selection, legal review, and security approvals. With the Google Cloud Marketplace, buyers can complete transactions in days and apply existing Google Cloud commitments, simplifying renewals and supporting larger deals.
