You can create alerts for high packet loss based on predefined conditions. The alerting policy for packet loss is triggered when the packet loss exceeds 5% for 5 minutes for any region pair. You can modify the alerting policy or create new alerting policies. For more information about creating and managing alerting policies, see Introduction to alerting.
To create an alert and configure notifications, do the following:
Console
- In the Google Cloud console, go to the Performance Dashboard page.
- On the Packet loss tab, click Create alert. The Alert policy templates sidebar appears.
- Select an alert policy template from the list or customize a configuration:
- Select High packet loss alert policy. This policy triggers an alert when the packet loss exceeds 5% for 5 minutes for any region pair.
- To customize the alert policy, click View options.
- To edit the MQL alert template, click Customize Alert Policy.
Configure notifications:
Click Use notification channel. You can send your Google Cloud alerting data to your notification channel. The data sent to the channel recipients might contain sensitive information.
In Notification channels, select the channel. Select where to receive notifications when incidents are triggered.
