About VMware Engine networks

Google Cloud VMware Engine uses a VMware Engine network to provide network connectivity between one or more private clouds, Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud networks, and on-premises networks. Each region can have only one VMware Engine network and each private cloud must have a VMware Engine network attached to it.

Network connectivity of a standard VMware Engine network uses VPC network peering.

Network connectivity for VMware Engine networks

Private services access is a private connection between your VPC network and a network owned by Google. VMware Engine networks establish connectivity between the Google owned network and your private cloud. This enables exclusive communication using internal IP addresses between virtual machine (VM) instances in your VPC network and VMware VMs.

VMware Engine networks function at a regional level, and can only connect to service producer networks in the corresponding region. Separate private connections must be established to service producer networks in each region.
