The software usage fees appear as separate items in the\n[Cloud Billing reports](/billing/docs/reports) and\n[exported Cloud Billing data from BigQuery](/billing/docs/how-to/export-data-bigquery).\nSometimes the charges are linked to one of your projects, and other times\nthey're only linked to your Cloud Billing account.\n\nThis page describes the factors that affect how you're billed for the software\nyou purchase from Cloud Marketplace. For steps to manage billing or cancel\na subscription, see\n[Managing billing for Cloud Marketplace](/marketplace/docs/manage-billing).\n\nHow you're charged for software\n-------------------------------\n\nCloud Marketplace providers can choose how they set up pricing plans for\ntheir software. The following sections describe the pricing plans that you\nmight see in Cloud Marketplace:\n\n- [Pricing plans for VM products](#vm-pricing)\n\n- [Pricing plans for Kubernetes apps](#k8s-pricing)\n\n- [Pricing plans for SaaS products](#services-pricing)\n\nIf you're working with a vendor for discounted pricing, they can create a\nprivate offer that lets you purchase the product at a discount. The discounted\nprice then applies to the pricing plans described in this section.\n\n[Learn about accepting private offers for Cloud Marketplace products](/marketplace/docs/offers/accepting-private-offer).\n\n### Pricing plans for [VM products](https://console.cloud.google.com/marketplace/browse?filter=solution-type:vm)\n\nThe types of plans for VM products include:\n\n- A flat hourly rate, billed monthly.\n\n- Usage fees, based on the resources in your deployment, such as the number of\n vCPUs, the amount of memory, or the number of GPUs in your deployment.\n\n- Bring your own license (BYOL). When you deploy the product, you sign up for\n a license on the vendor's website, and the vendor bills you directly. Google\n bills you for the infrastructure separately.\n\n| **Note:** When you select a VM product, you see an estimate of the costs that you incur when you deploy it. The estimate is based on the minimum recommended configuration for the product, and doesn't include networking costs. You can modify your configuration when you deploy the product.\n\nAfter you've purchased a commercial VM product, you see the charges for the VMs\nlinked to the project where the VMs exist.\n\n### Pricing plans for [Kubernetes apps](https://console.cloud.google.com/marketplace/browse?filter=solution-type:k8s)\n\nThe types of plans for Kubernetes apps include:\n\n- Usage fees, based on measurements set by the vendor. For example,\n some vendors might charge by the number of containers that you run the\n app on and the number of API requests you make to the app.\n\n For commercial Kubernetes apps, a billing administrator must first\n purchase the app for your organization. After the purchase is complete,\n users in your organization can deploy the app and use the organization's\n billing plan. You are charged software usage fees for your Kubernetes\n containers, and for the GKE infrastructure that you use.\n\n For steps to set up a billing plan for commercial Kubernetes apps, see\n [Managing billing plans](/marketplace/docs/manage-billing).\n- Bring your own license (BYOL). You must sign up for a license on the vendor's\n website, and the vendor bills you directly. Google bills you for the\n infrastructure separately.\n\nFor steps to deploy a Kubernetes app to your cluster, visit\n[Deploying Kubernetes apps](/marketplace/docs/kubernetes-apps).\n\nYou will see the charges for the usage fees linked to a project you did not\ncreate. This project's ID begins with `pr` or `pr-` then a string of hexadecimal\ndigits.\n\n### Pricing plans for [SaaS products](https://console.cloud.google.com/marketplace/browse?filter=solution-type:service)\n\n| **Note:** To purchase SaaS products, you must have the Billing Administrator role for the active billing account, and the Project Editor role for the project that you want to add the service for.\n\nThe types of plans for SaaS products include:\n\n- Monthly subscriptions, or a subscription for a specific period, such as a\n year or longer. The vendor might offer multiple subscription plans, such as\n Basic, Standard, and Pro plans.\n\n | **Note:** If you choose a specific subscription period, such as a year, you can increase your service level or choose a longer subscription period at any time. However, if you want to choose a shorter subscription period, downgrade, or cancel your service, the change takes effect after the subscription period is complete. For example, if you are on a Standard 1-year plan and want to switch to a Standard monthly plan, or to a Basic plan, the change takes effect after you complete one year on the Standard plan.\n- Usage-based, based on measurements set by the vendor. For example, some\n vendors might charge by the quantity of data you process in the app.\n\n- A combination of subscription and usage fees. For example, a vendor\n might charge a monthly fee of $10 for a Basic plan, and an additional $0.01\n for every GiB of data processed.\n\nYou will see subscription fees not associated with any project, while usage fees\nwill be linked to a project you did not create. This project's ID begins with\n`pr` or `pr-` then a string of hexadecimal digits.\n\nFactors that affect your bill\n-----------------------------\n\nYou might see the following additional items in your monthly bill:\n\n- [Cloud Monitoring charges](#monitoring-charges)\n- [Credits for trial software](#trial-software)\n\n### Charges for Cloud Monitoring in VM products\n\nSome Cloud Marketplace products might include\nCloud Monitoring, which collects metrics, events, and metadata from\nyour deployment. If you exceed the Cloud Monitoring free usage\nallotment, you are charged for using it. If you don't\nwant to use Cloud Monitoring, you must\n[disable the Monitoring agent](/marketplace/docs/manage-deployments#managing_stackdriver_logging_for_your_deployment).\n\n[Learn more about Monitoring pricing](/stackdriver/pricing).\n\n### Trials for Cloud Marketplace software\n\nYou can sign up for software trials from Cloud Marketplace,\nduring which you can use the software without paying for the license.\nDuring the trial, you pay only for the Google Cloud infrastructure that\nyou use. For each product, you can sign up for one trial for every billing\naccount.\n\nTrials include a trial period and usage credit, set by the provider. Your\ntrial ends when you reach the credit limit, or when the trial period\nexpires, whichever comes first.\n\nFor example, consider a product for which the recommended configuration\nis a VM with a single vCPU, and you are charged based on the number of vCPUs\nin your deployment. During a trial, if you choose an instance with 4 vCPUs,\nyour hourly usage fee increases, so you might reach your credit limit before the\ntrial period expires.\n\nTo see the status of your trial in the Google Cloud console, go to the\n[Billing page](https://console.cloud.google.com/billing). On your bill, the\ncredit for your free trial is shown in the Credits section. Google Cloud\nalso sends you an email three days before your trial expires, or when less than\n10% of your trial credits remain, whichever is earlier.\n\nAfter your trial has ended, you can continue using the software, and you are\nbilled according to the pricing plan that you're on. If you want to end your\ntrial before the trial period expires, [cancel your plan](/marketplace/docs/manage-billing#cancel).\n\nAdditional resources\n--------------------\n\n- For an estimate of your monthly infrastructure charges, use the\n [Google Cloud pricing calculator](/products/calculator).\n\n- For information on analyzing your bills, see the\n [Google Cloud billing documentation](/billing/docs)."]]
