This storage type is available for the Cloud SQL Enterprise edition machine series, and the Cloud SQL Enterprise Plus edition N2 and memory-optimized-N2 machine series.\n\nFor more information about the different machine series and types available\nfor Cloud SQL, see\n[Machine series overview](/sql/docs/sqlserver/machine-series-overview).\n\nPerformance Persistent Disk\n---------------------------\n\nCloud SQL uses the Performance Persistent Disk (SSD) storage option for\nits\nMemory-optimized-N2 machine series. SSD is a\nPersistent Disk volumes offering that provides durable network storage devices and\nis suitable for enterprise applications and high-performance databases that\nrequire lower latency and more IOPS.\nFor more information, see\n[About Persistent Disk](/compute/docs/disks/persistent-disks).\n\nIOPs and throughput for SSD storage type are set based on the machine type\nand storage capacity you set. You can't configure the values for IOPS and\nthroughput.\n\n### N2 SSD IOPS and throughput limits\n\nThe following table shows the maximum values for IOPS and throughput\nfor the SSD storage option based on the number of vCPUs for the\n[N2 machine series](/sql/docs/sqlserver/machine-series-overview#n2):\n\n| **Note:** To increase the IOPS and throughput values for the N2 machine series, increase the storage capacity of your instance.\n\nWhat's next\n-----------\n\n- [Create an instance](/sql/docs/sqlserver/create-instance)\n- Learn more about the different [machine series](/sql/docs/sqlserver/machine-series-overview) available in Cloud SQL."]]
