Supported platforms

This page describes environments that are supported for in-cluster Anthos Service Mesh. For a list of environments that are supported for managed Anthos Service Mesh, see managed Anthos Service Mesh Environments.

Anthos Service Mesh 1.14.x

Only the following environments are supported for in-cluster Anthos Service Mesh 1.14.x. All other environments are unsupported.

GKE on Google Cloud We recommend that you enroll GKE clusters on Google Cloud in a release channel. When enrolling, use the Regular release channel because other channels might be based on a GKE version that isn't supported. Anthos Service Mesh 1.14 supports the following GKE versions: 1.23.

The GKE cluster must be Standard. GKE Autopilot cluster is not supported by the in-cluster control plane. In order to use the GKE Autopilot, you must choose managed Anthos Service Mesh.

Anthos clusters on VMware 1.12 Kubernetes version 1.23
Anthos on bare metal 1.12 Kubernetes version 1.23
Anthos clusters on AWS current and previous generation (1.10) Kubernetes version 1.21 and later
Anthos attached clusters Amazon EKS and Microsoft AKS on Kubernetes 1.23 are supported with Anthos Service Mesh 1.14. For information on installing Anthos Service Mesh on EKS or AKS, see About the asmcli.

Anthos Service Mesh 1.13.x

Only the following environments are supported for in-cluster Anthos Service Mesh 1.13.x. All other environments are unsupported.

Anthos Service Mesh 1.12.x

Only the following environments are supported for in-cluster Anthos Service Mesh 1.12.x. All other environments are unsupported.
