Quickstart: Finding and applying recommendations using the Recommendation Hub

Learn how to use the Recommendation Hub to find and apply recommendations.

Before you begin

For this quickstart, you need a Google Cloud project.

  1. Go to the Google Cloud console.

  2. Select a Google Cloud project or create a new one if you don't have one yet.

  3. Ensure you have sufficient Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions to view the project's recommendations. If you don't have sufficient permission, you might not be able to view some recommendations and the recommendation hub might appear empty. Refer to the IAM guide for more information.

For information about changing the state of recommendations in the Google Cloud console, refer to the documentation for Recommendation Hub or for the appropriate recommender.

Finding recommendations in the Recommendation Hub

  1. Navigate to your project's Home dashboard.

  2. Select the Recommendations tab.

Applying Recommendations in the Recommendation Hub

  1. Click view more on a recommendation card. Depending on the Recommendation type, you might see a panel open (see step 3) or a page with all the recommendations of that type listed.

  2. Some recommendations have multiple categories that you can view by clicking on the category name in the navigation.

  3. Click on the name of a recommendation in the Recommendation column to view the detail panel.

  4. Apply or dismiss recommendations that you have permission to using the apply button. Some recommendations might not be directly applicable in the detail panel or page. Follow the instructions listed on the detail page to apply them. One click apply
