The\n[Gemini CLI](#use-gemini-cli) is available in Cloud Shell without\nadditional setup.\n\nUse the terminal\n----------------\n\nCloud Shell provides command-line access to the virtual machine\ninstance in a terminal window that opens in the Google Cloud console. You can open\nmultiple shell connections to the same instance.\n\nTo view the gcloud CLI available commands, run `gcloud --help`.\n\nIn addition to accessing the [Google Cloud CLI](/sdk/gcloud) and other\nutilities from the command line, you can use the `cloudshell` command to launch\ntutorials, open the Cloud Shell Editor, and download files.\n\nFor more information, run `cloudshell help`.\n\n### Scroll the display\n\nIn addition to using your mouse while browser focus is on a session tab, you can\nscroll by pressing `Ctrl`+`Shift`+`PageUp` / `Ctrl`+`Shift`+`PageDn`\n(Windows and Linux) or `Fn`+`Shift`+`Up` / `Fn`+`Shift`+`Down` (on Mac OS X).\n\n### Copy and paste text\n\nTo copy and paste text:\n\n1. Select some text in the session display or another window using your\n mouse.\n\n2. To copy the text, press `Ctrl`+`C` (on Windows or Linux) or `Cmd`+`C`\n (on macOS).\n\n3. To paste at your cursor location, press `Ctrl`+`V` (on Windows or Linux) or\n `Cmd`+`V` (on macOS).\n\n### Send a key combination using the Google Cloud console\n\nClick\n**Send Key Combination** and then press `Ctrl`+`V`.\n\nConfigure terminal settings\n---------------------------\n\nTo adjust your terminal settings, click\n**Settings**. In this\nmenu, you can set your Terminal preferences for theme, font type and size, and\ncopy, keyboard and scrollbar default settings.\n\n### Keyboard layout support\n\nIf you're using an international keyboard or would like to customize your\nkey bindings, Cloud Shell allows you to specify which key behaves\nas Alt Gr (your modifier key). To specify key mapping, go to the\n**Terminal Settings** menu, select\n**Terminal Preferences** \\\u003e **Keyboard** \\\u003e **Alt Gr Key** and choose one of the\nfollowing options:\n\n- Auto - Autodetect based on browser language\n- None - Disable any AltGr related munging\n- Ctrl-Alt - Set Ctrl+Alt as AltGr\n- Left-Alt - Set left Alt as AltGr\n- Right-Alt - Set right Alt as AltGr\n\nAdditionally, you can set 'Alt is meta' to specify that your alt key should\nbehave as a meta key.\n\nOpen multiple terminal sessions\n-------------------------------\n\nTo open additional sessions, click\n\n**Add Cloud Shell Session** at the top of the\nCloud Shell window. Each session connects to the same virtual\nmachine instance. When you open a new session, it appears in a new tab at the\nbottom of the Google Cloud console.\n\nTab title customization\n-----------------------\n\nCloud Shell understands xterm escape sequences for\n[setting tab titles](http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Xterm-Title-4.html#ss4.3). To rename\na tab title, set the `PS1` environment variable in your .bashrc to your\ndesired configuration and source your .bashrc for the change to take.\n\nUse the Gemini CLI\n------------------\n\nTo use the [Gemini CLI](/gemini/docs/codeassist/gemini-cli) in\nCloud Shell, run `gemini` in the Cloud Shell terminal.\n\nTo get started with the Gemini CLI, see the\n[Gemini CLI documentation](https://github.com/google-gemini/gemini-cli)."]]
